I have been using photoshop 7 for about two months now and I am competent with it. I am now looking into taking my own photos and messing with them in photoshop, rather than finding ones on the internet. I am asking what cameras you guys recommend based on what camera features are most important in terms of importing them into photoshop. (uh also what are those features)...if you have links to camera descriptions please provide

I don't think there's any camera that has any advantages in terms of importing to PS. As long as the photo is in JPG format PS can open it like any other file. If your camera can use other formats (for example, Nikon can use NEF) it will probably come with a plugin to allow PS to open it.

In terms of what camera you should get, there are literally thousands of choices, depending on how much you want to spend, how many MP's you want, what zoom you want, whether you want a full auto or an SLR, what brand you prefer ETC. Chech out dpreview.com, most here seem to consider it the best site in terms of camera reviews. There are also several other in depth discussions on the topic if you scroll through this forum.
