Why do icons that previously worked for Username photo no longer upload? It just leaves a blank space. It is the gif that shows action.

I agree with Tick the animated gifs were so much fun, & caused no offence to anyone, why should the feature be disabled? it makes no sense to me. Good old PJ / phasmid was ace at making custom animated gifs for many artists here in the past.

Perhaps Caedes could explain to us why the feature has been disabled, surely he wants the site to recover from stagnation, does he understand this isn't helping.

Over 6 months have elapsed since Tick started this post, the animated gifs are still disabled, & Caedes hasn't replied to any comments here. Is he sleeping or just too conceited to speak to mere commoners like us?

It was stated by *caedes on a discussion thread several years ago that he prefers to not have the animated/flashing icons on the server,hence the disabling of that feature.

Calling *caedes conceited is extremely unnecessary folks.

I can't help but wonder why many of us pay a fee to the Caedes site when they take away things we enjoy, such as gif avatars and use of the alt key for symbols.
I don't intend for this to be meant in a mean spirited way, just would like some sound answers.

I think I've answered this question some time earlier in the past 10 years, but I understand if it needs to be refreshed. It is to some degree a personal preference that I don't want to see flashing animated gifs on the site. If it takes more work for me to allow something that I don't want in the first place, then I'm unlikely to do it. This is not a personal slight against those who would like animated avatars, just a difference of opinion.
