I was just curious as to what people are using as their camera of choice?
Just list the make, model, and meg if it's digital, or make and model if 35mm.
If you make the "OK" signal with your hand but then curl your pointer finger tighter, it makes a mini lens that actually assists in focusing. This is my favorite, but it isn't very efficient at storing images for later use.
8Mpx with a sonic CCD cleaner
30-90mm lens
80-300mm lens
This camera is very good, and my only regret is that Canon offers a wider selection of lenses though their high end seems comparable to that of Olympus.

My old camera was a Panasonic Lumix 4Mpx
400mm anti-shake zoom lense f2.8 - 8 through the entire zoom.
50, 100, 200,400 ASA sesitivity
$350
The Panasonic is the best sub-DSLR camera I have ever seen with the exception of its 5Mpx cousin. Its only drawbacks are its resolution and the fact that it won't shoot RAW mode.
Just started using a 1941 Kodak Medalist, I know its old but listen, after you get the neg your can scan it and generate a picture about 20-23 mega pix. Oh the detail!!!! WOW, I haven't priced a 20 meg pix camera but I'm sure they are up there. I will be posting some soon.
I just got a Kodak Z760 6.1 megapixel for Christmas. Love it. Recently purchased a telephoto and wide angle lens for it. Got the camera as a Christmas special, camera and docking station for $199.00. Now they run anywhere from $300.00-$400.00 just for the camera and another $50 for the docking station. Nice camera even at $300+
I just got a Nikon D50 digital SLR, 6.2 megapixel and picked up the nikkor 55-200 zoom lens in addition to the 18-55 nikkor lens that came with the camera. I'm new at this and kind of intimidated by the camera, but trying to learn as much as I can. This site has been a wonderful help to me so far. before this, I was using a nikon coolpix 3200, 3.1 megapixel
Currently, a Rebel XT with the 18-55mm kit *shakes head in disgust* and Canon's new 70-300mm f/4-5.6 ISU. *raises chin, but flips on all available light switches*
Kodak EasyShare LS420 - a total no-brainer.
Would love to upgrade but in the meantime it is lots of fun. Optical zoom and more than 3megapixels would be nice.
same as Dues, Eos 350d with kit 18-55mm and 75-300mm just upgraded from a 2mp olympus camedia and have had experience with my dads old slr, and im having great fun, but remember no matter how good the camera, eventually its up to u to get a good shot :-)
i have one of those Kodak disposable cameras.. shoots an amazing 640x480 resolution! :D j/k lol.. i have a Sony Cybershot T-33, 5.1MP, 3x optical/2x digital zoom, huge LCD screen, and a 256MB card.. dunno what else to put :|
I ordered a Nikon D50 a few days ago. 6.1 Megapixel, if I remember correctly, and for now, I'll have the 28-80 lens. Any recommendations on a long range lens that is also cost efficient?
This one I have never used it outside of a store, so i can't speak from to much expeiance that it is good. I have just read some good stuff about it, and i considered getting it before i switched to wanting a macro. The problem i could see that it might have is it is only f4.5 so it is alittle slow. I can see it running into trouble when shooting in lower light. Something faster would be much nice, but also much more expensive. So im not sure what is best.
I use my aunts Canon 20D with the 18-55 lens kit. but she got a new one on B&H, shell get it Friday may 17th 2006. Im saving to get either the Canon 30D or the Canon 5D, with aftermarket Canon lens.
hehe, yeah. First thing on my list to get anyways is some nice new lenses. namely, Sigma 105mm Macro and Sigma 70-200 telephoto. That'll put me back a good $800-1000, so I can't really be thinking about a new camera for a while. :) By then they'll have much nicer cameras anyways.
Thats true, every 6months or a year something new and advance, with more features and pixels. They just need to lower the damn prices on the canon 20D already. still 1100, some 950 if your lucky that they are still new with a lens or without a lens. They need to mark them to at least 700-850. Some consumer reasonible price. Oh well.
just had my camera replaced because one of the nice little ferals that visit here is now the proud owner of my other one..
Now i have a FUJI FinePix S5600 digital; 5.1mp; 10xoptical zoom/5.7xdigital I've only used it once, so i have 4 days to figure out whats what on it before I head off for 4 days of relaxation and hopefully some great photography..
I use a Minolta DiMAGE A-200 and love the results it gives. Great images come from the mind and not from the camera. Learn the camera that you use and work within it's limits.

I bought a new camera recently and I'm still learning how to use it. It's a Sony DSC-H1. If anyone can tell me how to take time elapsed picture in low light without it turning red and orange, that would be great.
Cannon A610 just got it about 4 months ago really like it!! the flip out lcd is a bonus cause it protects my screen :) its the 5.1 mp one but i think it is better than the 8.1 model cause i own it :)
My first camera and believe it or not, still working --- Canon AE-1, but, as time
changes and old age sets in, I now have the Nikon D50 with 55mm, 200mm and
a 300mm lens... Quite happy with the new toy.
Canon 20D. I use three lens for different things; 50mm f1.4 for indoor low light, 28-105mm for 'walking around' and a 70-300mm IS for birds and things. I dont have a MACRO :( but from five feet away the 300mm works pretty good for flowers at least.
My favourite thing about this camera is its performance at high ISO. Very little noise at 800 which is great for those indoor family occasions.
Canon Rebel Ti (35mm) with two different lenses: 28-80 (first lens, got with the camera for Christmas) and a 28-300 (later Christmas present).
Really dying to get a digital, as I'm planning on being a wedding photographer (and pretty much everything is digital there), and since I know how my camera works, I'd live a digital Rebel. I would probably have to sell my car though to get it!

I started with a 2 MP Fuji digital and moved on to a Kodak DX6490 with 4 MP. It is great to handle and allowed more ability to manipulate shutter speed, exposure, etc. I am really frustrated that even with a 10X zoom, I can't get the closeups that I see on this site, but I hope to graduate to some type of Canon digital when I can afford it.
I am a beginner, but I'm becoming more involved with this every day. It's a new art form for me.
I have an Olympus E-300 DSLR with the dual lens kit (ZUIKO 14-45mm f3.5-5.6 ZUIKO 40-150mm f3.5-4.5) . 8.2 MP and also an Olympus D-595 point and shoot. 5 MP .
I'm your basic 'Newbie' to the DSLR scene... However, I do have an 'Oldie' by
digital standards.... Old -- Sony Mavida, New -- Nikon D50 and am enjoying the
heck out of it, now if I can only learn how to use that Da.n Elements 4.0...
I've got a Konica Minolta Dimage Z20 5.0 MP with 8X Optical Zoom that I purchased for myself last year and I just received a super wide angle lens converter for my birthday on Tuesday.
I love the camera...but I've got a lot to learn about it yet.
Canon Powershot A620. I wanted a Nikon D70S but it's out of my price range and something just felt wrong about the D50. Settled on the A620 after reading some very positive reviews and I'm frankly bloodly loving it. It's an awesome little piece of kit, superb image quality, all the manual control you could wish for and a fold-out LCD that makes weird-angle photography a breeze.
The only downside is that you do get funny looks when you've got your compact camera stuck on top of a tripod :)
first is my Fuji Finepix A205, 2mp, 3x optical zoom. Nice camera, solid construction and good picture quality, beginner to low intermediate....no advanced options.
latest is my Canon Powershot S2 IS, 5mp, 12x optical zoom, image stabilization. Every option under the sun. Still learning it (really, learning about photography options--have the natural eye for a good scene and good composition, but how to best get the camera to capture it is the trick with this one).
Konica-Minolta Dimage Z10 - an amazing little thing that takes great images.
Canon EOS 30D with some rather fancy image-stabilizing lenses. A recent treat - now I need to treat myself to some photography lessons so I get something out of it!
Olympus C-40 Ultra Zoom (called the D-40UZ in the USA)
3mp and a 2.8x optical zoom
Bought second-hand on eBay 2 years ago. It's a good little camera but I'm hoping Santa will bring me a new DSLR!
Hi, I'm new here and thought this to be a good topic for a first comment.
I recently purchased a Kodak Z740 (5.0MP, 10X optical/5X digital zoom) After going many years without a 35mm camera. Although I originally wanted something 'better,' I'm finding the Kodak to be suiting my needs at this time and am enjoying it fully :o)
i'm currently using a fujifilm finepix E500 4.0..not the greatest, but i wanted something entry-level when i bought this, since it was my first digital cam. when i finally up grade, i'm looking at a few 6.0's and up, and a greater than 4x optical zoom i'm currently stuck with
I could wile away the hours
Conferrin' with the flowers
Consultin' with the rain
And my head I'd be scratchin'
While my thoughts were busy hatchin'
If I only had a brain
I used to have an olympus c-5000 z (5mp) with a 3x optical zoom, but wanted a better zoom — now i`ve got an olympus sp-500uz (6mp) with a 10x optical zoom / the down side is that the xd cards this camera takes cost more than the sd cards
I use a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ20. Has a great 12x optical zoom with an amazing image stabilizer that comes in very handy on the distance shots (it's college... you eat when you can, as I'm sure some of you know).
Did I mention I picked up a Canon SD 450 a couple months back? I don't recall...too much scotch in me little brain. I wear it like a cell phone, on my hip, everyday. I'm in total geek mode now.
I'm waiting for someone to ask to use my cell phone...Hello Moto! 8~D
Canon Powershot A620, 7mp. I dreamed of owning a Nikon again someday, but I've been so pleased with this Canon that I'll be looking seriously at their models when I shop for a DSLR.
I used to have a Canon Powershot S40 but it froze up on me in the salty waters around Hawaii. Then I got the Canon Powershot S60 and have used it for a long while. For my birthday this year I bought myself a Canon Rebel EOS (used but that's ok) and I'm just learning all about it now.
I'm a Newbie, So hi everyone, I have a Olympus FE 100, 4Meg Pixels, 2.8 OPtical Zoom.
Still learning about it but i love it and keep wishing for more dollars to buy a bigger better version..LOL
im in the process of deciding which digi slr to buy. i have an old praktica film slr, with some telephoto, wide angle and macro lenses. i also have an olympus mju700 7.1mp.
i was wondering if there are any digital slrs out there that can take the old screw mount lenses that i have, as im not rolling in it(im married:( ) and would like to keep the ones i already have.
Lol, "I'm not rolling it in (I'm married)" <-- I like that one. lol.
I'm not a camera master, but I thought I would do something useful with my time. Link <-- Read this forum, see if it helps you. Talks about adapters, screw mounts, and old lenses on DSLR's...i havent read it, but it seemed related.
Another option is to use a film scanner instead...I'm not knowlegable in this area either, but...I think you can get a 3600dpi scanner, somewhat ok, for I think, $350ish (US). Um, if your using it for 1600x1200 caedes postings, it should work fine (then photoshop), but, if your actually going to print on paper, film.

Use to have a canon AE 1 but gave it to my grandson with all the lenses and filters and stuff, he said thanks gramps. I now shoot with a fuji FinePix S7000 very proud of my buddy. Dwight.
