Can someone explain to me how the c index works? it seems to me like a load of random numbers??

I would assume it would be the average votes after a certain number of votes taken..
however that wouldnt explain how you can get 99:100 as a c-index
anyone else got any bright ideas?

Yeah, it is an average of votes, and no. of veiws to downloads also has some bearing. A 99 vote would mean that you have had a large majority of 10's, plus a few people have given lower than that. If you go through the previous posts there is some other info. but there isn't much more to it than that...
