I just got my iBook G4, and I am not sure how im supposed to download any of these images. I've tried just 'Save As' and then go into System Preferences and click that file for my desktop, but it never changes over to the new image. Can anyone help? Im really confused!

sounds odd. trying trashing your display preferences (.plist file) and try it again

Just drag the full size image onto your desktop. Then you can set it as your desktop or move it into whatever folder you want it in.
When you use "Save as", you are only allowed to save as a web archive, or the page source. You aren't actually saving the image at all.
