This is not intended as a complaint, rather as an observation but I suspect it may be seen as one.
The numbers of uploaded images have shrunk remarkably but surely there are more than just three images (two photography and one abstract, 2 in February, 1 in March) that have been considered good enough for promotion to the Main Galleries since the start of 2018 ?
The "New Images Gallery" goes back only as far as 03.03.18 so the preceding ones for this year have disappeared from view except for from within individual galleries.
If there is no one available to promote images or if it is genuinely thought none are of a high enough standard then perhaps the '"New Images" could remain new images for some time longer than 4 weeks to at least give more credit to, and show more appreciation for, the time and effort that goes into producing them ?
Without the chances of promotion much of the incentive to improve or indeed to even continue to post is removed. From 495 images in March alone there must be more than one that deserves promotion.
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
Lyn, I am only guessing since I do not have any inside information to support my thought, but I am guessing the lack of promotions is primarily due to Les (+purmusic) not being on site since October 5th, 2017. With a few exceptions, promotions stopped when Les left.
Lyn, I do not take it as a complaint, but rather a valid observation/criticism. I've newly gotten involved again and after this coming weekend (when I have a lot going on, family holiday gathering, etc.), I'll dig in and see what I think and can do about promotions.

The saying about Rome not being built in a day is attributed to John Heywood an English writer, born in 1497. He also said "Better late than never." and "This hitteth the naile on the hed" amongst many other now familiar sayings. One of my favourite sayings is "Rome wasn't built in a day but they were laying bricks every hour"
