I'm a very amature photographer, but I'd like to improve. I think the best/easiest way right now would be to read some books on photography. Does anyone have any suggestions? Feel free to suggest books on any aspect of photographry (lighting, composition, etc...).

Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson is quite good as is The Creative Photography Handbook by Lee Frost.

What's your gear? If you're digital with the ability to adjust your own settings I keep Real World Digital Photography by Katrin Eismann close at hand.

I've been using a friends Sony Cybershot. I don't actually own a camera, but I will probably end up getting a good digital camera. However, I think it would be nice to be proficient in traditional photography. But, for now, let's just assume digital.
