What do you mean it has incorrect dimensions. I made it for a laptop...it -has- to have correct dimensions. 1280x800 is a valid desktop screen size. Gosh, why is it always my luck for something like this to happen.

Most images here are uploaded at 1024x768, 1152x864, 1280x1024, 1600x1200. The ratio is four-by-three which works out well for most desktops. Some members who wish to upload in a slightly different ratio can do so by creating frames, margins, etc., to compensate so as to conform their image within the criteria. Also, keep in mind images should be kept at below 800k to avoid slowing the site.
however, if i fix my image to fit criteria...it still isn't the right size....geez...it fits my monitor just perfectly...if i fix it, it won't fit for me anymore. you people with desktop monitors aren't the only ones in the world.

I have a laptop, and the images on caedes seem to fit it quite well. I generally set the images to wallpaper using the "stretch" option after choosing the resolution that most closely matches my screen res. It's usually so close as to be indistinguishable.
hmmm...i guess with the typical caedes type image it's ok...i wasn't thinking about that...however, even 160 pxls make a difference when you squish it from 1280x960 to 1280x800 when your image involves people/characters...proportions are off...so you have to have a wallpaper, in this instace, that is customized for laptops. Otherwise it looks weird.

Wow, such anger over a widescreen format. Yes, it is true caedes does not support widescreen images at present. Yes, it is true that there is a growing number of wider-format screens out there at strange sizes. Some day, the two shall meet. At present, the site only supports the dimensions of 99% of screens. If you wish to share with the rest of the site, you'll need to make a copy of the image with some added borders to pad it out to upload.

Sorry, 99% was a bit too high of an estimate. Caedes actually supports only 96.41% of internet users' screen resolutions, according to a study released today.
Note that the resolution I'm using, 1400x1050, is not even on the list.
But I would like to retract some of the vitriol contained in my previous comment. I had not read your post just before it, as it was posted while I was still typing. You seemed a little too upset over having to pad your own images to post them here, and I picked up too harshly on that. It's been agreed that the site will eventually allow images of any dimensions to be uploaded, and it's something that caedes is working on. This should allow users with wide screens to make and share compatibly sized wallpapers. Again, I apologize for replying harshly.
also, peeps...you don't seem to get it...lol..if i crop it, it doesn't fit my screen anymore. my issue is not how to fix it to fit desktop monitors...but why caedes doesn't support laptop monitors

Because, as xentrik pointed out, there is very little demand for it. BTW I have posted a few images which I designed to be cropped for widescreen format with the specific intention of gauging demand for it. I also uploaded the same image in the standard size. I specifically asked for feedback on the widescreen image. I got plenty of feedback and a high rating on the standard sized image, but only one comment and very few d/l's on the widescreen one, which I have since removed (the normal sized one is still in my gallery). That indicated to me that uploading in wide screen format was a bit of a waste of time. However caedes is planning to change the format of the site so that images can be uploaded in any size format the member desires. You may have a long wait for this though, he's a busy man.
