I know you're busy as heck, Caedes, but the recent conversations about the ineffectuality of the c-index has led me to do some exploration and some thinking (Ouch!). I'd sure like some more effective tools for judging the quality of my work. On the Caedes Control Panel, if I could have a column called View to DL ratio (# of Downloads / # of Views) I would be happy. Likewise some overall artist totals like Total Downloads, Total Votes, Total Views, Overall View to Download ratio would be quite helpful too, so I could see how I am improving.

The old c-index used to include the view to download ratio as part of its calculation, however I was having trouble preventing false views and downlaods and so the c-index was easily influenced by various nefarious entities. Yes, I could add it to the Control panel, but right now I think it is already too wide and so I could make it as a default for everyone.

I understand. It is pretty wide, and I have to widen my screen to get it all in there. I keep calculating the ratio manually, and I'm trying to figure out how to get the mass of numbers into a spreadsheet, so I can do the math, myself. Apparently no one else feels that this is a critical request, though, so perhaps we should let it drop.

Regmar. Save your Caedes Control page then open it with excel. Select all cells and turn off wrap text and merge cells.

Now select all again and "paste special" as text into a new spreadsheet, this pastes the data without any format code so you can manipulate it and apply any calculations your heart desires. It takes about three minutes to get ready.

There are three colours, Ten digits and seven notes, its what we do with them that’s important. Ruth Ross
