hardly! The only thing that game had going for it was the fascinating graphics engine. Incredible interactive environment. However, to say "the best game ever" is far off.
#1 Boring story line, if any. (the first 2 hours of the game you spend running, which gets extremely monotonous)
#2 Not coded nearly as solid as its predesessor. There are quite a few glitches, where Half Life 1 had very few, and none were any big deal.
#3 Im not posative, but I think it's significantly shorter than HL1 too...
#4 .....(i was scared to death the whole time playing it!!!!! =)
lol, i thought it was a pretty fun game, i like using the crossbow becuase if they were standing close enough to somthing you could shot them and they would get stuck to the wall with the rail road spike....
It's still a very enjoyable game, though Doom3 I liked a little better. The scary atmosphere in itself was worth the price of admission, not to mention it's top-notch graphics and weapons(ala Chainsaw)! The game to lookout for now is "F.E.A.R.", it's sort of like Half-Life but instead of aliens they splash in a little Jap/Korean horror to it. You can download the singleplayer demo at almost any gaming site. Look out for it, release date is 10/18/05.
