I have always thought that a t-shirt would be cool. I would think it would be a good money generator if we could figure out how to do it - I'm sure it's easy enough. There's places all over the net.
nothing wrong with Velour if you dont mind looking like a pantomime horse :-) like the cig pocket idea lots - the kids on the site could use it as crayola pocket so it would be completely multifunctional :-)
"Yeh ' yeh ' that's the ticket" a multifunction t shirt. Your on the right track Phile. We better whatch it though Geri made end up designing discusting thing like fanny packs to. LOL
Probably not a money-spinner, though. Most of those type of sites charge a small fortune. We've done calendars and posters in the past, usually at little or no profit. Hell, you could have mousemats, mugs, anything :-)
"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts." Bertrand Russell
** feigns mock outrage at his character being sullied in full prima donna style. Pictures himself in a velour t-shirt in a last ditched effort to ground himself….**
I still have the design, I just have had other things take priority over that project. If someone wants to take the ball and run with it, I have no objections. It is Phil's design and would need his permission and caedes' blessing first.
Very cool Phil, I like it a lot, but the only problem is that it would lose its metallic attributes in the printing with out it becoming extravagant in cost other wise that would be a very cool logo design. The design is amassing and very well done. Great job!
Ok phil I did a quick Design lay out for a simple T-Shirt Idea that can be used for any color shirt. I'll post it tonight . So look for it. I know it's not as amassing as yours, but I think it will do well for a T-Shirt
Hey if only 1000 of the 148948 purshased a shirt from the site say at 19.99 t0 29.99 a shirt. Cruch the numbers, I think you would have a profit there don't you.?
ya can make the designs downloadable and ppl could print making an iron on. My kids have got a few back when. Most office supply stores ....office depot etc sells the proper materials to make it possible to print an iron on. of course that limits the size to the max a printer can feed :-/
Basically - even if we were to produce a limited run of 200 good quality shirts in one colour and a spread of sizes you'd still be looking at the thick end of $1400 - so lots of commitment/support would be required in advance ....
Let the sales commence. 1000 in xxl , xl, l, & M. I sore your design Phil in the black and white and it looks cool. This site has 14k + members. With 4k made thats still a drop of <35% not interested so therefore you break even (plus). Shamone. Whats 65% of 14.000 x 20 usd ($) in comparison to manufacture???? A good profit margin.
I agree with phile : to get the ball rollong we would need to first decide on a design, second commited pre ordered lot for print. This will set the price of production and if it is a resonable enough profit to proceed with another print option.
Well, just trying to reiterate what caedes said about 1000 being an unrealistic number. :-) It would be absolutely awesome if it actually came to that, but I'd expect something more in line with the 100-200 range, personally. Once a design is settled on, preorders would be the way to go.
I think a T-shirt would go over much more poster. 1. You can ware it. 2. It brings attraction to the person who wares it, other wise there vanity is affected. 3. Its mobile marketing. If the shirt is made well, with the right attraction to it and is seen! The more you make and sell the more the people will buy it. Otherwise it will be in the public eye more, instead of hanging on a wall where just friends and family will see it. The attraction of the poster was less due to the marketing limitations it had. With a T-shirt, people will ask what’s Caedes and where do I go to find it. Thus the web address on the shirt.
So I’ll tell you what I will have two made by my friend that does airbrush work and I see the response to it. Why not, I’m going to have him make a few shirts for me anyways for my website and business.
It could even be as simple as a picture here we can save and take into a printers to put on to an item of chosen clothing. I may look into this further.
Any design has to be broken down into color layers, one color per silk screen, so the more colors you use, the more expensive the production costs... most t-shirt companies won't even think of giving a customer a price break for any order under 12 dozen. I have noticed a couple of wrap-around designs, there are not many companies that do that, and the few that I had seen over the years wouldn't touch an order under 12 gross, but maybe that has changed in the last couple of years since I got out of the silk-screening business. I'm not trying to be a wet blanket, I just feel I should let you all know what to expect. I would love to see caedes.net shirts out on the streets.
That's why I said the shirt need to be to the point and simple. minimal design and minimal effort. When ever I have designed a shirt for print I've tried to keep them to to know mr ethen four colors.
