listen..i really hate sounding mean..and this is gonna make SO many poeple hate me....but could people stop uploading half-rate terrigen images? i mean (crater) is the exception (moon river) is...and many others...but i think we all know what i mean...and its not that i dont think they should be shared with us...is just that noone is going to down load it with so many much better images on the site...cuting down on these images would speed the site up...and other techie things im not gonna pertend to understand...please dont hold this post agisnt me..im only trying to do whats best for the site

none taken here otaku, i agree whole-heartedly, many terragen images are good, but some of them just leave you thinking "why would anyone download this as a desktop?" but don't get me wrong there are some AMAZING terragen images out there.

Remember, though, that the best way for people to improve is to upload images to receive criticism/advice. There is already a limit on how many people can upload per day, and on the size of the file, and if the images are unpopular they will be deleted in due course. Maybe we just need to be more honest with our comments, if people keep uploading images that you don't like, tell them so.

and it will be mean only if you say things like "wow, this image sucks"

you have to re-phrase and add constructive criticism...
e.g. "It's not a bad image, it's just that you should add (some kind of suggestion goes here) then it might be more appealing"

Agree with Samatar: if an image is bland, we should say so. I have to confess that I am a bit of a coward sometimes when an average image is uploaded. However, as long as it is all phrased constructively, it should be ok. People have posted stuff on mine sometimes that was like 'I like this but you might want to do this.....' I haven't taken offence (well, not often...)

However, I agree with Otaku: too many images coming in, but we can't get all censorial about it.

I Don't Comment on Average Images, and well you can normally tell if it is an average image without the comments by looking at the amount of views, and then how it varies with the downloads....
