Hello Everyone...I am relatively new to the site...I don't have anything of my own posted yet, but I enjoy marveling at everyone else's art. I have one problem in this department...I still don't see any of the images on my PC. Has this been fixed yet? I know that there weren't any images here for a while, but I'm still not getting them. Can anyone help me?

Thanks a bunch.

The work of art may have a moral effect, but to demand moral purpose from an artist is to make him ruin his work. (Johann Wolfgang von Goethe - 1832)

Can you see the frames where the images should be (with the little red crosses on the corners)? What happens if you right-click on it and choose 'show picture'? Can you see pictures on any other siteds? Maybe it's just the connection, are you on a dial-up?

Or it could just be the settings - if you go into Tools & then Internet Options in IE and then choose 'Advanced' and look at the multimedia section, is the 'show pictures' box checked?

The boxes are blank...there's nothing in them. On the main page, there is a black square with no picture in it. All I see are boxes (It looks like this part that I'm typing in right now--that's it)

Thanks for any help you guys can provide...I appreciate it greatly!

So, what about images in general on the web? Can you see them on other sites? A lot of the borders and stuff on Caedes are actually images - can you see them?

Of all the other sites I have gone to, I can see everything I am supposed to. I can see everything on here (the background, the icons by people's names, the borders...), that is, everything except the actual pictures. I haven't a clue why...

OK, so it's not a general problem then. I'll have to mention this to some other people, see if they have any ideas.

Hmmm... that's a very unusual problem. Normally if you can't see the images no one can see them. I think Caedes might be the only one who would have an educated idea of why that is happening to you because he designed this site... Sorry I'm not much of a help here. =/

That's ok. I just discovered that if I go through the whole process to view a picture...when I get to the point where I need to right-click on the picture to save it to my computer, there is the red X in the corner. It didn't show up until that point though. It also says "loading" when I get to that point.

Might be a connection problem, possibly, if it's downloading the small images but taking ages to do the bigger ones. What sort of connection do you have?

I have a cable connection...but I can't even see the little ones...they're just blank boxes. It's just that when I get to the part where I should be able to download them...they have the little red Xs in the corner.

Cable should be fine. By 'little ones' I meant the icons and user avatars, the borders, etc. It can't be a generic problem, otherwise you wouldn't be able to see anything at all. It's very perplexing.

When the pictures are missing, is there a message on your status bar to indicate that the browser is still downloading stuff? If you leave it until everything has stopped, do the pictures then appear?

The red X normally appears when a picture hasn't downloaded. What happens if you then right click where the picture should be (in the frame where the X is) and choose the 'Show Picture' option.

The page is done downloading...the pictures are just gray boxes. I don't get the red X until I am at the spot where I should be able to download the picture...I know because it worked before they were having problems with it and nobody saw the pictures.

So you have been able at one time to see all the pictures on this site? And the red X only appears when you are 'viewing' an image full-size?

Hmmmm.... it sounds like the image server is not loading for you. That sounds like how the development site is (almost all the images there are blank).

What do you see when you go to this url? images.caedes.net If you're not able to load that page then for some reason your browser isn't able to contact the images server.
