I begin with making a new bed with fresh linen. I get showered. I get a few beers (Michelob) and some salt and black pepper pretzels and a sandwich (normally ham and tomato or tuna & mayo), I then go watch Buena Vista Social Club or listen to the Blue room (search box @ radio 1 homepage).

Well then lil miss Librarian thats a bit cheeky. Reading is an understated past time and one I spend half my week doing. God damn insomnia. I have got to the point of 4 hours sleep a night with half an hour each side extra for REM. Chilling out allows me to get as rested and rejuvinated as I can.
I dont sleep much...I unwind with a nice bath, a glass of wine and some pampering, like a facial, giving myself a pedicure and manicure and then watching a movie with my man.
Having a warm bath with shavings of dark chocolate in a bowl with a nice glass of chilled champagne____________________? I read that in a book by Ian Banks, Bed and a cold shower it is for me. Lucky man P!
Hey Nick you sound so refined!
Me, I usually go outside or lay on a window seat in the sun, or I go for a bike ride around my neighborhood, preferably around sunset. Thats the best time around here. Or if its nice, I'll go for a nice late night swim. My favorite though, is going for a walk in the rain, watching the steam come up off of the lakes.
I love to stand on the cliffs over looking the ocean in the rain, but I do agree with the staying in when it rains with a lover sleeping in late. I also enjoy a good movie I have a great theater room so that really helps.
My first love and relaxation is my Red Cougar(sports car)..I can take a drive anywhere, but mostly to the OCeaN..its only an hour away...I put the leather seat back..and take a nap with the windows down so I can smell the salty air..and feel the sun when I can..at times I go for drives and blast the music..so Im "in" my speaker LOL...the other thing I like when I'm at home is get a glass of shaved ice, add peppermint schnapps OR Yukon Jack..then sit and do one of my canvas paintings...have a snack usually of Wasabi Dried Peas(very spicey) Or I LOVE those lime hot cashews I get at Trader Joes...then just go into my wonderful bed with fresh lavender scented linens and a bit of the night breezes coming into the window...comfy zone for sure...
This is definitely a momentary thing with me ... but, as planned ... in a few hours, I will sit in my favourite chair, a cup of tea at hand, headphones on ... music loud, and watch the sun rise and be pleasantly entertained and properly 'chilled,' as the sky turns it's magnificent colours ... and if I time it right, there will be a couple of lightly toasted seven grain bagels with cream cheese and raspberry preserves on top to enjoy along with.
Well, if I'm broke, I scrape together my loose change and go to Barnes and Noble. I pull a book from the shelf, buy some coffee and spend the day reading. If I have some play money, I gas up the car and go to Yosemite and hike. When I lived in the San Francisco I would go to the pier and people watch, have some chowder in a sourdough bowl and enjoy the fog.
Yosemite, I believe there is good mountain biking and rock climbing there. I reckon though if taking a tent was my bag there would be some awesome slow shutter shots to be had as dusk and then at dawn. Take a cold box full fo bud or corona, b'bque. Steaks chicken and salad, fresh bread and go chill with my gheto blaster (recking the moment) harp (thats better).
Now Rakuri, Im not refined just met women who know what they like like the ladies here, V I like your post alot. Just come back from a road trip and I must admit sea air is invigorating. Im not lucky enough to live near the coast even driving distance after work for this is a prob.
After work, walk the dog - wash the dog - fix tea bangers and cheddar mash with spanish onion gravy. With a nice bottle of Shiraz lightly chilled to ease the tannin. Computer most of night and probably about 10 cigarettes. Fresh bed with a some Pretzels and Buena Vista Social Club. Amen. Or spend all night addicted to vinyl.
Sigh...when I get older I'll experience the joys of having a significant other, but for now I'm not going to rush it. I know when we used to live in NJ one of my favorite things to do was sit on the beach have the wind rush through my hair and listen to the crashing of the waves. The sound of the ocean really makes me feel at peace.
Speaking of Yosemite and pix...Ansel Adams had a very famous pic "Autumn Moon" and just this past Thursday, The scene was repeated. Astronomers predict that the next time the moon, mountains etc, will line up like in A.Adams photo is 19 years from now. Sadly I missed the opportunity as I threw my back out and was not able to easily move. I would have liked very much to have been able to take the short drive and take my own Ansel Adams-esque pictures of "Autumn Moon".
There are many a night that I can be found down on Cocoa Beach, relaxing in one of the lifeguard chairs, enjoying the sea breeze (and maybe if I am lucky, watch the lightning off-shore)
When i need to chill out, I ask my partents to keep my 4 year old sis away, lock my bedroom door, and read. usually with a cup of really hot mint tea. Or if im really stressed out, I'll go and run around my farm, and just pound my emotions into the ground.(it works really well!) lol

Hm...autumn...such a great time of the year. I was blessed to be born on the first day of the season. I miss the changing leaves. The orange and reds of the trees always put me in a good mood. The cool crisp air filling my lungs as I ran around my neighborhood with my friends. I miss that. Now we live in Florida so not much changes.
Now, that roof thing, reminds me of playing 'hide n go seek,' when I was small. No one ever found you up there ... and then, while up there, ... hmm, got lost myownself.
I think James Taylor's song, "Up on a Roof," just might answer the question we are not asking of Silverfang.
Yesss! Serendipitously, found that Caedes works well too.
The flipside to my original comment. Cooking dinner and playing around with spices, inhaling the aromatic air and watching the sun set ... through my back door. Trying, really trying ... to get Zen with the colours of the sky ... wonderful.

Soccer ? Football yes! I used to play all the time, we have a smaller version of the game called 5 A Side. Thats where I first dislocated my left knee cap. Fun.

When I want to relax, I like to go camping in West Virginia, it's so beautiful there, the mountains surrounding you, the streams, the swimming hole, the great food and company, everything is blissful for me.................*sighs* ♥

Scrambled eggs, 3 sausages, 4 rashers of bacon, 2 slices of black pudding, has browns, baked beans, griddled tomato, mushrooms. White toast (3 slices+), and a pint of fresh orange with bits in and a cup of tea. Then to relax I eat it very slowly reading the paper.

rashers of bacon? black pudding? griddled tomatoe what is this? Too much white bread. This is not a low cal breakfast. A pint of fresh orange with bits in ? Do you mean a pint of OJ with orange chunks in it?
Okies........next week I get to take my Cougar to the beach for five days..so I get the ultimate "chilling out"....a beach house on the sand...sunsets each evening...tons of photos to take..the salty air to breathe deeply into every bit o' me....glasses of peppermint schnapps...buttered popcorn and fresh crab dipped in garlic butter,...plus a wonderful wrap around porch..facing the sea.......and the stars on a clear nite..so how much better could it possible be??
