CENSUS

: )

Well lets look at this on a light note, whilst browsing threads here I see religion is something of a hot topic that people dont want to go into depth about, So I thought I'd look at this from a different perspective. In the Uk about 2yrs ago ish the Government sent out a Census. When it came to the section that asked "please specify your religion and if it is not here please state it under other", Well by law if there are 500.000 in the least in a religion then tenhnically it is a religion.

Guess what 1.5 million were then "Jedi Knight", which was quality. Due to this being the case technically I am Jedi Knight by religious conurtation. Imature I know but it just goes to show there is a massive gaping hole for some decent thinkers to fill.

Question > What religion would your be?

Hello there Mr Phil how was wales PM.

Can you imagine the Church Of England being turned into temple for Jedi Knights. Bring back the knights of Pendragon. As real as it is there is no way on this planet it would ever happen. The force is strong with you Mr Blair, come on thats hilarious.

I don't think that it was ever recognised as a religion as there is no basis for it, it's just a word. Anyhow, to answer the question, if I had to be a member of a religion it would be one where everyone else worships ME. Well you said we could choose...

Sam, hoestly if 500.000 people say they follow the same religion then it is so. As it stands we got triple that! Thats in the UK! Nothing has happened though apart from driving over the subject with a tank!

So if a million people put down "None" as a religion does that mean that the government would then recognise "None" as an official religion?!?

All religion started with the Zoë-Astrians, The basic principles of Islam, Judaic and yes Lady_Rhea, Christianity. The symbolic belief of a single god under many faces!

Now then lets stop with the boxing gloves Mr Sam. Technically if over 500.000 people put non as their religion then TECHNICALLY it would not, as they would be Atheists or unable to choose. When people put Jedi Knight it was either because they were taking the p+ss or did not want to align themselves with a title (If they were that bright). 1.5 Mil people not wanting to define themselves in a particular religion just goes to shows a bit of a Void.

And that is good. But remember dont allow that to shut the doors on other possabilities. Not for the sake of changing your mind but seeing the world from a different perspective sometimes.

I myself am Atheist to the degree of a specific religion per say. I do however allow myself to think of an idea where something so galactic in power had something to do with things.

All I am trying to point out is that a religion needs to have a basis before it can become officially recognised. If a million people put "frog" as their religion, it still couldn't be recognised as a religion because nobody would know what "frog" means... same goes for "jedi". Besides, the body responsible for the census would have been well aware of the Jedi thing before they started counting and I'm sure they would have advised their employees to disregard any response pertaining to Jedis as they knew it was a hoax. Anyway, to get back to the subject, I once read a book (which I have now lost) which involved the slaughter of a group of "Heretics" who had a religion which simply involved being nice to everyone (good reason to kill them all huh?) It was a real religion but unfortunately I can't remember what it was called, and nor can I recall the name of the book or the author. I do recall that she wrote another book which was made into a TV series, called "Mother Love". If anyone knows anything about this I would appreciate the info...

I was not Alex. I was merely stating dont turn into somebody who is devout (no offence). Have your faith and relax having it but never allow your opinion to make you think yours is better in anyway. It's not its just different etc. You dont have to defend yourself with me @ all.
I am atheist now because I dont follow a specific religion it would be very wrong for me to say yours is false etc. I accept it, as yours. Thats the difference. R+R.

Sam I would not have a clue about "Mother Love" sorry.

Coming back to your post above. I know exactly what your point is, if "Jedi Knight" was ever going to work then yes the only thing missing would be a body to initiate it. Why is this? I watched a film once called Stigmata and although a film I love some of the ideas about not defining a religion per say by just believing not, simple as that (for me). This is what I try to do to a degree.
