hey i was wondering if any of ya'll play any instruments?
i'v played trombone for about three years and just recently received an Electric guitar(so far the only songs i can play that anyone has ever heard of are Ode to joy..but i'v only had it for about 3 hours ^..^!!!!) but yea....anyone play anything>?
yup. Got an electric acoustic - which I don't play...want to though. I play the sax and I use to play the clarinet pretty seriously. I've had so many instruments over the years...had a flute...have gone through 4 clarinets, 2 alto sax's and a soprano sax...too many keyboards - I bought a Fender Strat....damn...I can't remember them all. So, I guess the answer would be yes. :D
Got a midi keyboard connected up to the computer, used to do a bit with Cubase. Haven't switched it on since I found Caedes and got back into photography..... If only I didn't have to work for a living I'd have time for my hobbies :-(
I have an electric bass that I use with my Bass Pod and a Kustom amp with Celestion speaker and built-in effects. Also have several acoustic guitars in my bedroom and both my kids are learning electric guitar.
(They each have their own good electric guitars).
I played french horn and some keyboards in middle school band.
i started off on piano and moved to clarinet. i played that for about three years. then i switched to oboe and have been playing ever since. i play in my school's band and orchestra and i'm playing english horn in the opera coming up.
have you guys ever seen a dulcimer? those things are the hottest. i just think their cool, even though i can't play one. my taste in music is a little different. i like classical music and old-school choral stuff (Rutter is the bomb), but i'm really liking the band Switchfoot right now. their lyrics are the hizzle-fo-schizzle.
thats about it. have a great day.
i have 3 guitars, two are at my mom's cuz i couldn't bring em with me when i moved to canada, i don't really have much time to play tho with a 2 year old running all over the place, he he.
I've got an Electric Guitar, a keyboard, a harmonica (which I'm not very good at besides making senseless melody), I've got my mind... I can whistle!...err.. running outta ideas. yeah
I play the piano. Played it for about... ummmm.... about eight to nine years. I just like it for a hobby not for anything serious. It's really foon/fun. hehe hehe heheheh
but as for me, i play alto/tenor sax, i also play clarinet, and i play electric/acoustic guitar, just got a new ibanez, so im pretty happy bout that.... but hey, not too shabby of a list for a 15 yr old eh?
i played clarinet in middle school--3 years...i have a guitar, but didn't stick with it because it hurt my fingers...i can play simple things on the piano...
I have about 5 trumpets, two cornets, and I play the piano when I go to my parents house. I tried to pick up guitar a few years ago, but I don't really have the time to dedicate my practise to guitar while still keeping up my chops for the trumpet. One day I'll probably get a nice classical acoustic though. I really like that style of playing.
Piner- i have 2 electric, one epiphone, one yamaha, and one acoustic 12-string (epiphone), i used to like electric best but when i got that 12 string acoustic i fell in love!
i used to play a trumpet, and a cornet when i was like 9, but i don't remember any of the fingerings and stuff, and i tried to learn piano, learned the basics of it but never got beyond that cuz i didn't practice, he he he.
Yes, I actually play the flute, and have been playing the flute for 8 years. I love classical concert instruments, and I do enjoy playing with concert bands. Sure I like playing classical instruments but i'd really love to learn how to play the acoustic guitar!
yes i actually prefer classical at times....classical tunes in with are emotions more..like the right song can really lift your soul....its funny...but some classical songs make me feel a sense of nirvana lol....its REALLY wierd but i heard this one song and i swear to God it made me want to run ...so i ran..then got yelled at...but it was all good(ROCK ON MILFORD HIGH SCHOOL ORCESTRA!!!!)
Classical is great, but my all time favorite music is classical rock, but more in a mellow way, definrtly not hard core: Although I have nothing against that type of rock.
I'm a percussionist, not as much a drummer though, but a xylophonist...
(gotta love the vibraphone and kettledrums)
the only instrument I own is a fairly old keyboard but I do use it occasionally.
more often nowadays I compose though :S
junky casio Keyboard, Ibanez acoutic/eltric (which i play all day). Trumper (havn't touched it since I had to play pomp and circumstance at graduation). And I'm about to buy a Epiphone Les Paul custom!! (oh yeah, I have 2 recorders! LOL! those things are awsome!)
Love to see so many of you have classical instruments and that you still play them. So many schools are killing the music departments with their budget cuts you have to wonder if it's a dying art.
I play clarinet, have a small but growing collection of native American flutes, a copy of a Mayan occarina (good for carrying on hikes alone in the woods) Two guitars that I'm just barely able to chord, and there's a sale comming up and I'm looking at a sax.
I am a drummer, but unfortunately I had to part with my set (a long term loaner from my older cousin) when I moved into my college apartment. For the past four years I have had sore legs because those and my drumsticks are all I've got left :)
good for you I don't like ibanez anymore. Especially when I found out their slogan: "Anything but Classic". So I'll never buy another one. For me it's either a strat or a Les Paul. =)
I currently play piano and keyboard (as if they weren't similar enough to be called the same thing). Acoustic guitar and standing bass sound very intruiging to me, but I doubt either will hapen anytime soon do to funds. Currently I have art programs to buy for my computer and this site :-)
Piano well dusted, tuned, and a great source for my soul now that I can play for "ME" ;). Casio untouched. Definately couldn't get out of my comfort zone there.
But words are things, and a small drop of ink, falling, like dew, upon a thought produces that which makes thousands, perhaps millions think and smile.
