How do we shorten lines(threads)in Poetry (offtopics)

Would anyone happen to know how to make the poetry thread lines(sentences) that run across the page shorter? It is all taking so much space. Help? anyone?

Well, it was a simple problem with a simple solution. It appears that a couple of members had decided to put a whole string of over 200 characters without any breaks as a top border of their poems (i.e. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~) .
I reduced the offending strings down to about 75 characters each. All fixed.
