i want to use them, heard only good things about them. is there any way i can get them legally without paying? or if need be, ditch the legal part. i dont trust limewire or any of those file sharing programs because viruses are programs, therefore something very very bad could potentially happen.

You might not want to ditch the legal part, or else we might need to delete the thread. We don't really care what you do on your own time, but discussing where to aquire illegal software on caedes.net is a no-no.
Aside from that, what Phil said is probably your best bet. Maybe others will chime in with plugins they're familiar with.

Virtual-Photographer is FREE and pretty cool .. it does color augmentation .. and can save a photo sometimes
