1) why does the earth spin counterclockwise. (It spins taht way right?) Yet clocks spin clockwise?

I've asked some really dumb questions over the years.. the most recent on was on the weekend while driving, asked the kids what channel was 104.3fm on so i could tune it in.. wondered why they were rolling around the seat laughing at me until I realised what I said DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Btw, if your in an airplane walking 5 miles per hour and the airplane is travelling 600 mph (700 is near/is the speed of sound. I think they go around 600ish) then relative to earth your going 605 mph. relative to the plane you are travelling 5 miles per hour. If your speed is relative to the sun then your going....well very fast. Now if it is compared to the speed of the center of the galaxy...hehe, ill stop.
