If you just say yes, then they'll think it's their fault and that you're honest :)

It is one of those no-win situations...say yes, expect to be sleeping on the sofa, and much more. Say no, you've lied to save your ass, but it has only bought you some time...because eventually the question will come up again!!!

Just the other day, Alex (Lady_Rhea_) and I agreed we would go into Arbys and put on British accents. We ordered, talked allot and stuff in our disguised voices and everyone seemed to be buying it. They gave us the wrong sandwich, so I went to exchange it and the guy was like: "Sure.....are you from England or something?" I wanted to laugh my head off!! I told him I was from a specific area in England, Birmingham, I think it was. I lied....but it was funny as heck!

She may have already seen that tatoo and now thinks her granddaughter is lying to her. If she truly loves you, that tatoo wont make her love you any less but your dishonesty about the tattoo, may make her think less of you. I am being honest with you.

My intent endlessdreamz was not to hurt you or make you look bad, but to acknowledge the truth and tell it. Like I said, she loves you and you are the same sweetheart with a tattoo. That can be ok in her eyes but lying will never be ok. She doesnt expect you to be flawless, just honest with her and not to insult her intelligence. Its said out of love and respect!!

I do appreciate you thoughts and words and know what your saying is true and is something that we should all live by. But honestly and unfortunately lies are a big part of all of us or this thread wouldn't be here and neither would life as we know it. Can you honestly say that you haven't lied in the past week?
I am not trying to insult her intelligence but some things are difficult confronting family under certain cultural differences and other things that you might not now.
I know my grandmother already knows it and she is just waiting for me to tell her, she just knows I will all in my own time and when I'm ready.
That's what makes her my abuelita ;)
I love and respect her with all my heart and because I lied to her doesn't take that away. It takes that away from me. It just means that I am not comfortable enough with myself to be that open. And she knows that.
So I guess we can agree to disagree. :)

I know you love her and respect her. It is easy for others to tell you to be honest. There have been plenty of times where honesty has been difficult for me or could be even hurtful to others. You go to do what is right for you. I understand cultural differences. My abuelita is deceased so I do not get the priviledge of dealing with her anymore.
