" A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops." Henry Brooks Adams. State who your favorite teacher was, and how they continue to influence your life. What made them special?

hmm... I would have to say... Walt Whitman. He was a poet who lived during the Civil War and his writings still inspire me today. It is because of him that I love poetry so.... and (of course) J.R.R. Tolkien. I think everyone knows why I like him. ^_^

Dr. Repsys. I hope he gets a chance to read this.

Not necessarily the most influential, but, I did experience my first 'aha' moment of understanding and accepting people for being, hmm, different. He was a brilliant mathematician and taught me high school maths ... with a twist.

You got extra marks for completeness of answers. He had bonus questions that were intriguing on his exams. Plus, I never ... never had this experience since, after having him for a teacher. At the end of the year, he invited you to debate the mark you deserved. That ... was ... so so ... cool.

It was his exterior facade and personality that drew many a sarcastic and disparaging remark.

And I finally learned not to judge him so harshly, when, after school one day ... we were playing ping pong in the front foyer. He came along, joined us in the game and beat us soundly. And all through our round robin competition of sorts ... not once, did he ever not congratulate us on a point well played. Here, alone with us, he let his proverbial 'hair down.' I got to see the human side of this man.

I always did grudgingly respect him ... as he made us work harder and more honestly than any teacher before or after. You know ... he just might be the most influential upon reflection ... and in this case, all positive.

Art class, I could not even cut straight with the scizzors after drawing a line to trace. I could recognize types of art the periods in which the works came from. Nikoli, your parents know and you should too that great things are ahead of you in your future.
