I have just scanned a photo and it has a couple rain splashes on it, small ones, how can I get rid of those in Photoshop or PSP?

Verena when I saw the two images I relised that you need to change the setting on your scanner. The way you scanned them and the contrast level you used was the rason you had the very dark areas. it also produce the greenish tone that you ended up with. You would save a lot of problems other then the image scares if you would do multiple scans at different settings.
