I have uploaded a total of I believe 6 pictures to caedes, and right now, my gallery has 1 picture. Can someone please tell me why my pictures keep disappearing? It has nothing to do with the quality or the content I can assure you. If you want to see some of the photos I have tried to submit, click here.
What photos did you upload ? And uhmm, I have a question, did you do your photo " Delicate " in a larger resolution ? Other particular favorites, the 2 dripping waters, enviroment ( !!!! ) & " Surface Tension ". Also your flower 15, & 17 .....Really outstanding, great photos....
I visited your website, and I feel that several of the images you show there, if rendered at 1600x1200 would be wonderful, and would receive a good welcome here on Caedes.
Didn't the Beach Boys have a song called .. "littleufo"? .. oh .. no .. sorry it was Little GTO .. that was a cool song
So, what are we talking about here? ... (*reads post .. goes to site*) .. I think you have an excellent eye for photography (and you have twice as many pageviews as I .. *shakes fist*) ... but, unfortunately, if the +Mod's newborn baby spits up on the brand new white velour couch just prior to image culling .. then not even personally knowing God will save you
I do think the SIZE feature of your software is broken .. it seems to be stuck at 900x600
First of all, thanks for the responses. I'm not sure who is getting notified when I reply but here are my replies:
'caedes: Yes it does help, but are my 6 images of poor quality or cliche? I mean I don't want to sound self-centered but my images are usually pretty unique, and I only submit my very nice works here. In addition, there might be a problem with the links, because usually I will give someone a link to my picture and then when I click the link the picture has already been deleted.
::laurengary: I do have hi-res versions of all my photos, but I am reluctant to post them mainly because lots of people on deviantART will complain that the size is too big, and theft of other peoples' work is very common. :\ Here I am also reluctant to submit, just because it takes a long time, there is a risk of theft, and usually after about a week it's deleted, no matter what.
::regmar: Read my comment to ::laurengary. I will probably post some when I have free time.
.KEIFER: Thanks for commenting, though I don't know exactly where you were going with the whole velour couch thing, and with the size feature, read my other comments. I always have hi-res images available, but I don't know if it's worth sharing them.
I'm sorry but as I did not remove any of the images I can't comment on the reasoning behind the decision. However I can tell you that in the future (after a few changes) we will have to do much less image removal than we do currently.
without seeing which you posted and just reading what has been discussed here i would assume they probably went bye bye because of not being full res. They don't help out very much on a desktop wallpaper site if they don't fit the screen size of the people that use them.
Just looked in your link.. you have great images... and i would say it's because of the size you upload as to why it was taken... if your worried about theft etc.. why not put a very small signature and copyright in the far corner of your work... maybe that will deter the thieves.. =)
as for Keifer's comment... just nod your head and smile.. hehehehe (sorry Keith.. =P )
Jacqueline has an excellent solution to your dilemna. I can understand your frustration, in all seriousness after looking at your link you are really very talented & I would enjoy viewing your work here as well. Unhappily, I believe that theft is a common problem for talented artists. Good Luck...
Lauren
there's a tutorial in the .. (wait for it) .. tutorial section about watermarking your images .. by BRphoto ... just remember to make it really really tiny so the thieves don't even know it's there and they won't remove it ... and I won't have to look at it .. ;o)
Thanks.
