'The reports suggest that the Xbox 360s are falling victim to a variety of errors rather than the crashes being caused by the same glitch. The scattered reports make it hard to gauge how widespread the problems are.'
'Microsoft spokeswoman Molly O'Donnell would not detail how many reports the company had received but did say the calls involved a "very, very small fraction" of all the consoles sold. The volume of calls was in line with Microsoft predictions, she said.'
I dont know whats more annoying - the fact they have released defective products or the fact they have done it knowingley fully expecting a percentile failing in the market.
oH mY GoD!!1!!!1 a M$ system breaking??? Obsurd -.-
Kind of funny that they call it a next generation console, when another console twice as powerful (in performance statistics) comes out in another year or sooner lol
Microsoft should be selling this crap at the dollar store. Where else in this consumer market is continuous citrus product so well recieved by us. Guess what, I just bought a new car and I cant shut it off! My windows won't open! Looks for Microsofts 911 number and realizes that is the price per minute for help...great customer service. I think I just blew a gasket?
Using Microsoft products has sucked the "I give a crap" right out of me,I just figure when you buy anything from them you automatically are enrolled in their Beta testing program
Go figure a microsoft product that dose not work well!
tbob your right thats why you have eror repoting , we a the puplic are testing every product they put out.
The best thing we could do is turn of the eror repoting and make them start to fix it before it hits the market.
If they could make LINUX more user friendly I would switch. Put I'm not a programer or script writer, so I like a lot of us are screwed.
Being a gamer I've been watching and reading. I learned long ago never to be the first in line for any new technology. Every fifty dollar game needs a patch as soon as you load the disk. To keep up with production on the factory floor microsoft used three different DVD drives; Thompson, Samsung and Phillips. The problems reported, crashing, freezing, lost saves, cannot read disc, have come from the Thompson drive. You're playing roulette when you buy one right now.
Any other product might issue a recall but I seriously doubt that the masters of the universe will bow to public pressure to make good on the money you've laid out in trust of their technology. As a matter of fact they want another hundred dollars to fix the problem. Several threads from disgruntled consumers report that if you report the problem to the better buisness bureau they will offer to do it for fifty.
Why should they recall it?The X Box isnt the problem, its a TV problem. You must use a TV approved by Microsoft for use by the X Box.Besides that they work perfect till you turn them on.
it's all nearly as (un) funny as the recent announcement that they have fixed the dreaded BSOD in the 'new' Vista operating system. And how of they fixed it permanently? why they've changed it to a red screen instead. obviously.
My hubby wants this I told him (no if ands or buts) that he had to wait at least 6 months so that M$ could get the bugs out first. People want this so badly....I can wait...spend $400 on a buggy system or wait and get a cleaned up system...hmmmmm
Ok see now I really hate microsoft as much as the next guy, but sueing M$ over this is just asinine.
Just bring it back for a Refund or Replacement, don't freaking sue them. I wouldn't sue a computer parts company for a defective part. I swear some of these people either need attention, lives, or both.
I know - its nearly as bad as all those morons sueing Apple for mental anguish because their iPod Nano's got scratched after they gave them to their dogs to play with despite already being offered a full refund and/or replacement and an extended warranty & return period.
Are you kidding me? "Mental Anguish" is what they sued for? I don't know if we should put more blame on the idiots suing, or on our justice system for making it so easy to sue...
All I got to say is, when has Microsoft EVER provided its users with actual security? Are they even capable of it? This goes double for copy-write protection on their own software. People will always find a way...This doesn't surprise me in the least.
**tries desperately to stifle laugh/act not too suprised **
