Now, I'm sure topic of this sort have been posted multiple times, but....well...too bad, becuase I felt like making one and, so far, there hasn't been a topic specifically like this. You can name singers, bands, composers, or any other musical artists. Just curious to see what everyone's opinions are.
i never said they looked good - just good at crafting pop songs - hey it wasnt me who used the words madonna, butch and dog in the same sentence remember? :-)
Right here's the classical list...
5. Ravel (Bolero)
4. Mozart (requiem)
3. Gustav Holst (the planets)
And for a tie... (first one on this thread...
1. Strauss (4 seasons)
1. Edvard Greig (Peer Gynt suite)
I have allot of favorite artists, probably to the hunderds, and you want me to narrow it down to 5? Crazy. . .I like to many different artist of to many different genres of music to just pick 5 but, I suppose if I had to, it would be:
Never lie, steal, cheat, or drink.
But if you must lie,
lie in the arms of the one you love.
If you must steal,
steal away from bad company.
If you must cheat, cheat death.
And if you must drink. . . .
drink in the moments
that take your breath away. . . . .
I am like Yin & Yang, my lighter side is balanced by my darkerside, embrace both & you get the whole me, play with one & you will meet the other...

And lastly, View an image, vote on it, then bloody comment on it. How else are we artists to know what you like or don't if you do not tell us?
Oh yeah...Queen. Good one. I watched the DVD of Live Aid '85 and Queen steals the show. Freddie Mercury had the crowd in the palm of his hand. No one else was close. Good stuff.
The Doors
Natacha Atlas
Tindersticks
PJ Harvey
Chris Whitely
Yea... 5 is pretty much too short to even come close to naming my favourites... Close runner-ups: Depeche Mode, Lamb, Aphex Twin, Daniel Lanois, JJ Cale, Biosphere, The Fleashquartet, Hedningarna, The Progidy, Björk... And that's just the start. (No absolute ranking as they are written...)
I remember staying up all night to watch the live feed of it...I ditched school for 2 days to watch...and I also had my radio on so I could record the radio broadcast...and hell yeah...Freddy Mercury DID steal the show...but then he was one of the great performers...and one I still miss. Ever notice that there are certain musicians that when they die, the music dies...and even if the band tries to go on, the music is never, ever the same
