Ok, raptorfalcon isn't the only one that can post controversial issues here...I heard on the radio today that a new planned parenthood just opened yesterday in my area. The grand opening was met with a group of supporters and a group of those against. Planned parenthood isn't just an abortion clinic. It is a place where people with not a lot of money (so they can't go to a regular doctor) can go for their reproductive health (which is also confidential).

Now of these protesters yesterday was a local bishop who said that the local law enforcement cannot take holy communion unless they ban abortion. Doesn't this seem a bit rash to you?

Don't get me wrong. I would never even consider having an abortion. I don't feel it is right. But the U.S. is trying to put a ban on abortions...and I think this is very wrong also.

Just watch the movie Dirty Dancing. It shows the horrors (between the lines) of a time when this country didn't allow abortions. People are still going to get them done, only they will get it done in sleezy conditions where it is terribly unsafe for them (and of course for the unborn child).

What are your feelings on this issue?

I pretty much agree with you, I think it is rediculous for the church to say that abortion should be banned just because they don't like it, just as they say contraception is a sin (no posts please about which church/religion says or doesn't say this, you know who I mean). It really annoys me that they still think they can run the country better than anyone else. We have seen the results of having a religious government and theyre not pretty... again I'm sure you know what I'm talking about, the spanish inquisition, crusades, etc etc... and look at the mess the missionaries have caused in Africa... and they still say that no one in this country should use contraception, even with the AIDS epedemic as it is. If you ask me they have made a right mess just about everywhere...

im not one to judge poeple based on abortion history/beliefs....a person doesnt have a soul when there born..they dont get one untill they begin to walk and talk....its better to :kill: the fetus before its born because your saving it from a misurable life...take this for example....if a girl that goes to my school(age 13-14) were to get impreganted..that is litterally the worst thing that could happen...and while discusting..it does happen...but the girl can simply get an abortion and have its all over with...no life ruination or anthing..althought they will prolly make the mistake again...anyway..its your choice...im not female..i dont have an opinion on this and i could care less on what other poeple think..i think it should stay open for those who need it and for those who hate it..well...suck it up and go thumb yer bible, because anyone who thinks someone should have to suffer there whole lives based on one mistake is trying to play God and condemn "sinners"...its just not right

I would like you to prove a fetus doesn't have a soul, please. If it does and operating under the idea of the original sin, abortion is worse than letting that child live.

you, sir, are obviously male..and while i,myself am male....i think its discusting how you would rather ruin a persons life than to take that of something that has yet to even open its eyes....and i'd like you to prove, kind sir, that somthing without enough body tissue to cure a runy noise(metaphor) has thoughts feelings and emotions..it is that, sir, what makes one's soul....i mean honestly? do you think the unfortunate mass of fluid, stem cells, and muscle...is looking forward to life? i mean come on....and finally.....your SIG...states you have seen hell...well clearly you have never seen the later-life of a pregenent teenager...because its not pretty...and if were you to wish that upon someone....well...God have mercy on you

i, being female, feel up to comenting on this one. Alright kevin has a point but so does just about everyone else. it does seem very rash to ban abortions for many reasons but it might not seem so rash in other lights. i say that if your an adult who gets an abortion it depends on the circumstances, but if your a teen, i say its probably a better choice to get an abortion most teenage girls that get abortions <will its not like a guy would get an abortion but just to be clear> are more likely to drop out of school and have serious problems with their life. it helps to have a legal place where they can get healthy and steril abortions rather than doing it illegaly and risking not only health problems but criminal charges. as for adults getting abortions i think that seeing as how the world is already over populated... idk there are so many things in this topic, if you are able to support the child shelter food and money wise then i think that maybe you should forego the abortion idea but banning it would just cause the unfortunate teens the extreme discomfort of facing a life changing situation or a painful end

i never said it was haha but i think that if you follow that religion then it is in your beliefs to folow christ... and sorry to say that the system has been aranged to where the people at the head of the church make the rules but as this is with mostly everything its totaly normal and we must live with that and in the church they make it a rule that to follow christ you must not perform an abortion will... this is where the idea should be stamped out

Im not saying to ban abortions that would cause a spike in the mother-child death rates and wouldnt stop it but promote it. As to your earlier statement I have my sig for a reason. I have seen the hell of people. I have been that hell time to time. I worked for an abortion clinic for six months. I was repulsed by what happens to the remains. I don't believe in abortion not merely because of my religious ramifications but by my personal experiences. If you check my name it says I am 25 but I'm older than that. I put that low so people don't get freaked out when they talk to me. You say that you wish harm on me well shame on you. Thats precisely why I cut ties with all the churches. You wanted my true feelings Otaku there they are.

Just one quick question. Why is it okay to stick a vucuum up a womans vagina and kill a "mass of tissue" but if a deranged attic shoots a one month baby in the head they immediately ask for the execution of the criminal. Just so you know I'm not the only one who wants to know. My friend in germany wants to know too.

abortion depends on the circumstances, exactly why personal experiance plays a huge part on the lives of people that choose to get or not to get an abortion. im not sure as to what happens with the -er- remains but im also not sure as to wheither i want to know. also i am curious as to your real age? and ur sig... humans are a disgusting race arnt they? inluding myself in that

I was catholic for awhile. Whenever somebody wished mercy on you it was code for may you die a violent death in bed tonight. Just the thoughts of an old man.
For pheonix ashes. Asking an old man his age is like asking a woman how much she weighs. I will tell you this, old enough be married for awhile.
For both of you. An unborn child can feel pain by eight weeks in the womb. A cortex is not necessary for pain just a thalamous. So even if it can't really think it still feels. Just an interesting note: When a fetus is confronted with an uncomfortable position it wiggles aroud in to a new position.

I just hope that when I get older and more useless than I am now they won't try to euthanize me for throwing water on their beds. :-)
I'm tired now, I need a beer.
P.S. has anyone besides me notice that Jessiac_3 hasn't been putting her two cents.
