I was just wondering how up to date people keep their "Favorites" galleries... I know now that they have an impact on c-indexes. Personally I think I need to pay more attention to what I have in there... I don't usually tend to think of it when I am voting, and I think I may be over cautious of putting something in there in case I decide I don't like it as much later on...
Only two images have been removed from my Favorites Gallery...not because I got tired of them, but because they were rips and got deleted. I do worry, though, that my increasingly large collection of favorites might add to the site's bandwidth usage. Does anyone know enough about computer stuff to tell me if I need to place a limit on that gallery?
Well, as far as I know, the favourites galary of your's doesn't really use any space (except to store the links to the images), so it's not as if you are using up bandwidth by having it. The only bandwidth use would be, when you or someone else are looking at your favourite galary, and thus need to download the thumbnails.
I could be wrong though, but I think this is the way it's implemented.
Each image in your favorites list adds only about 8-30 Bytes of data to the database. All it saves is the name of the image, so you shouldn't worry at all about wasting diskspace.
Each favorite that an image gets moves that image's c-index closer to 100.
Good question... that particular image hasn't been in the "New Images" gallery long enough that it should be deleted. Maybe the author deleted it himself?
I don't have anything in my favorites gallery because there are just too many pictures I really like and I'm too lazy to put them all in there, I really should though....
At times life is wicked and I just can't see the light, a silver lining sometimes isn't enough to make some wrongs seem right, whatever life brings, I've been through everything, and now I'm on my knees again but I know I must go on, although I hurt I must be strong, because inside I know that many feel this way... ~Creed~
