I'v been experimenting alot with black and white photography and I was curious if anyone had any tips on how a good black and white image should flow?? You can take a look at my gallery to see what I have done but what I am more interested in is what makes a good black and white image.
Hi Riley. It looks as though you already have a good idea about how to construct a B&W image. The rules of composition are helpful for any type of image, but my expeirience with B & W leads me to use it when I want to emphasize shapes over colors. That can include sharp shadows, architecture, industrial scenes, people's faces, flowers (strangely), or whenever the darkness can be used to create a mood.
I must say your 'Time is running out' is a masterpiece of B&W art. The subject is totally out of colour: only B&W to support the notion of passing time. I like it a lot :-)
Thanks
Riley
