My images have been deleted, I dont understand why???....maybe for the c-index....I have seen a lot images with lower index since sept or october and they are still there posted.....very interesting......BTW , Its funny, they deleted them , i did it too.. LOL
I just gave a little help deleting them :)...and u didnt anwer why those were deleted by the moderator (which one???).and was it for the c-index????....How I said, it was for that, there are few images with really lower c-index...and still well posted....
They were probably uploaded at a later date? Anyway, the c-index doesn't say much about an image getting permanent... All this is explained in the FAQs, much better than I could do it here...
I wonder who is actually deciding which images of which artist will be deleted or not. And for which particular reason ? If it's not the c-index.... what is it, personal favor of the mods ??? In my opinion there should be objective standards to judge if an image will get deleted after some time or not. This could be the c-index or it could be a certain amount of images which is like a limit of pictures in an artist's gallery. Furthermore it would be more gentle and fair to inform an artist about the intention of the mods to delete some of his images and give the artist the opportunity to make a choice by himself which of his images he wants to be deleted, if necessary. But the way it is done right now leads to discussions like that... and I can fully understand that Brix is wondering why some of her images have been deleted because they were really great and would have deserved it to stay permanently. I suggest that you, the mods and holder of the board, give thoughts to this "problem" and try and find a better solution for the future.
Well, having had a quick delve, the first reference I can find to a "permanent gallery" was a 3-year-old news item from someone called "caedes":
"Submitted by caedes 08/29/02 10:26 PM I picked three great nature shots from the User Gallery to go into the permanent Nature gallery: Mintaro Road, Rural Wisconsin, Gilbert Valley. Congrats to both sshrive and cc_Beowulf on the great photography. :-) "
Instead of being upset over removed images, I'd like to be the one to thank caedes for giving me the opportunity to display images I want to share, for free. So, simply enough, thank you for what you've done here, caedes.
Milo, the galleries are only called permenant as long as they remain here. Once they are removed, they are no longer considered permenant. See? It really isn't that complicated.
