Is it possible to use layers on Apophysis? If so, how? Or do you need another program like theGimp? Any kind of layer....a fractal on a fractal, a fractal on a photo, etc. Or even just a different interesting background with a fractal?

one answer is No .. and .. the other answer is Yes
If Apo gave you the ability to do layers it would be a low-feature-set ability compared to Photoshop .. and this is something where you would definately want full control
Ultra-fractal does layers .. It also renders Apo flames if you export them as .ufr ( or whatever it is ) .. but I don't remember if UF allows you to import, say, a paper texture.
there's a demo last I looked .. ;o)
