caedes does now have to run advertisements on each side of the site? left and right? why is that? its horrible..its distracting..and take away the joy of this whole site...does anyone know why this is happening? I couldnt believe it when I just now turned on my puter and saw that...will this be this way from now on? The worst part is that they are the moving kind, so they take your concentration totally off the photos etc.

It only shows on my right side & only until I log on, once I'm logged on, it disappears. Doesn't it go away for when you log on ?

well not to disillusion you...but it does not go away.even when I log in a while, it does not go away...but by the way Keith Mr smart*** I never got the priviledge of having a sports car all of my life, then finally all my kids were able to get married... and I decided not to drive a "Moms car" which is a big big van...I figured there comes a time in life when you get a just reward..and that was mine. Verena - i believe Keith was merely pointing out that you no longer have the fabled double colon so it is to be presumed that your contribution payment has expired - $3 per month I think it is - if this isnt the case you should PM Caedes to query it. No Cadre Colons=Ads appear on site.

Well, sorry, but I never had those moving ads before. Now they suddenly appear. Thats the reason I asked this question.

ummm i'm lost.. as far as i can read Keith's only joking he does that to everyone (just pat him on the head and give him a lollipop)... and i cant see how that is "slamming" .. its called a sense of humour, geez he's been doing that to me for a very long time and he does that to Lauren too.. there's no harm in it, its just fun... anyway if you read back there is more than just one person joking around in this thread.. anyway from what i see all he was trying to say was that you dont have a dot beside your name so thats why you get ads.. i would query it because you should have at least one dot there cos your an artist..

I think you've made the critical mistake of taking KEIFER too seriously. He's just joking with you.

He's also correct about the Cadre membership expiring. The ads make up for the loads of people who do not make donations to become Cadre members. They also encourage people to join the Cadre when they can. On the other hand I try very hard to get rid of any moving ads which take up more than their fair share of the screen or move around the screen. If you see any of these please try to get a screenshot of it so that I can get rid of the ad. You can just email it to me. Thanks.

Keith's right about one thing though that I didn't notice last night, the dot designating your status as an artist isn't even there, so there might be a mix -up somewhere.
Which brings up something else that actually does tie into Verena's question, tho' this isn't the right forum. The " Top Commenters ". Ever since I've become aware of it, Verena's been # 1, except I think for around the time of her daughter's wedding. ( A little busy there, eh, V. ?? Go figure ! ) And it's always been speculated that the " top ten " would receive free Cadre membership, for a certain length of time, I forget how long right now. So, has it started ? Is it even decided ? If it has been decided, & it has started, is it retroactive ? If retroactive, how far back does it go ? In essence, does Verena need to pay up now or after Christmas, or when ?

Edit : When our Cadre membership runs out, do we get a notice or do we get to notice a bunch of ads as our notice ?

Well, there was some problem this morning.. I went to Verena's user page and not only was there no dot, but she had no gallery.. That did reappear a few minutes later, but bits of information were missing from the individual images.. I haven't looked recently to see if this has been fixed.. Just wanted to let you know..

Wow, easiest Christmas ever

Ok I went ahead and rejoined the cadre. I now have the moving ads gone, they were very distracting. I like being able to post a couple photos a day if I have them to post. I want to thank some of you here who have made comments that are helpful.
