Valentines Day is not just for lovers or married couples. It celebrates all kinds of love. Let's discuss some loving ideas for things to do for Valentines Day to show someone that you care.
Russell Stovers Oh YUKKK!!!! Lets hear what you have done or ideas of what you could do for someone special like a woman, male, child, grandmother, etc. I am not afraid to admit as a grown woman that I still buy Valentines and used to pass them out at work. Bob the Builder for guys and Princess ones for girls but then as a therapist who works with kids I can get away with somethings that some adults cant. Like having bubbles in your office or Kalediscopes and coloring books.
Ask for a hug ... and if granted ... never let go. :)
However, if your request is met with a steely stare that translates 'what do you want now?' Give her some Russell Stovers. (JOKe.)
Really? I don't think they are that bad, Pot o' Gold, Lady Godiva, Laura Secord, you name it ... it has chocolate in it in some shape or form ... no questions asked on my part.
For my kids I make heart shaped pancakes and cookies, then we go to the Zoo or Monterey Bay Aquarium.
For my mom, I call at 5:30am and tell her that I have extra garlicky eggs made, with OJ and a rose with an earwig in it (as a kid...like 6 or 7 years old, I got up at 5ish made eggs with LOTS of garlic salt, and then cut a rose from her favorite bush out back and served it to her with OJ at 5:30ish...yes the rose had an earwig) it's a tradition we have maintained for going on 30 years.
For my dad, I send him a huge care package filled with Necco's wafer candies, and Good n Plenty's, and licorice all-sorts (his 3 fave candies)
For my sis, we usually go shopping then go out for lunch and a margarita.
For my bro...this is a recent thing as he and I have not always been close (he's an introvert who keeps to himself alot) I send him a letter or email telling him of something we did together in the past that meant a whole lot to me, and let him know that although we don't talk much, I love him.
For my hunnybunny...it changes each year...sometimes I make a reservation to stay the weekend in Tahoe (where we got married), or make a really nice dinner...something, but I always make him a card...usually with a drawing of mine (which looks like my kids drew it).
and even though my best friend has passed away, I carry on our tradition of donating money to the SPCA (which we did every Valentines, after a day of shopping and girl chat, we'd go to the SPCA and give whatever cash we had left...just open our purses and dump all our cash and loose change out on the counter for them).
Hmmm...once I used a glass vase and tied red and pink ribbons around it and inside placed tons of small pieces of colored paper for valentines listing all the many reasons that I loved my husband and in the mix was sweets too. He seemed to enjoy it and can be kept as a keepsake :)
In fact, go out of your way and create the 'ultimate brown-bagged lunch.' Complete with all the fixin's (their favs) and let them have your IPod for the day with a special playlist of 'your' songs. That way they can transport themselves for a few moments and be 'with' you.
Oh, one caveat ... don't 'hide' the note too, too well from prying eyes. ;) I think that is self-explanatory, I hope, lol.
Im going to be in Paris!!! How much do you all hate me right now??? :)
I'm going to the Eiffle tower (my inner tourist rears its ugly head), and a snazzy restaurant...I'll give y'all the run down when I get home (rub it in bubbles, rub it in)
All I need now is a date.....maybe I'll pick up a nice French boy...language doesn't matter, right? ;)
Yeah, everyone is invited!!! We can book out the local youth hostel, eight beds in a room, everyone get comfy!!! As long as you pay for your airfare ;)
I have no idea what other scenario you are referring to Phil, perhaps you could send me a diagram?
