I keep getting " Subject is not the correct dimension to be a wallpaper ' or words to that affect. Are they referring to pixels or height x width in inches.I noted down800x600 1024x768 1152x864 etc. but when I try to set this size I cant get the figures to correspond exactly
Thank You.

You need to provide more details. What application are you using? What function of the app are you using to resize? My guess is that you have "Constrain Proportions" turned on, which means the app will adjust each dimension of the image equally, but I'm only guessing.

well ... what he said .. but to further confuse you ..i offer this

Let's say you have constrain proportions turned on .. this will keep the "aspect ratio" the same when you resize something (this is recomended) .. but .. if the image is only out of whack by a little .. ie .. you set 1024 as your width and it automatically sets 764 as the height (instead of 768) .. you can turn off constrain proportions and set the correct number

A little scrunching won't be noticed

but .. if the number is a larger discrepancy .. ie .. you are resizing something intended for a widescreen monitor .. then you'll want to crop to the proper size ..

provide details .. your program .. dimensions of your original .. is your subject more centered .. or off to the side

or .. you can post a wide screen format in a standard size .. like .. Arizona Mesquite Sunset by Delusionist

Crop the image or add borders to make the image the correct dimensions.

The work of art may have a moral effect, but to demand moral purpose from an artist is to make him ruin his work. (Johann Wolfgang von Goethe - 1832)
