Hi ya'll, I need some avatar help!! Does anyone have any tips for creating good, clear, animated gif avatars in Photoshop? I geneally like mine until I start Saving them for Web at which point I have to up the (crappy crappy) lossyness and decrease the number of colours to get them below Caedes requisite of 5kb. Any tips for improving the clarity and apparant quality while still keeping the file size down would be appreciated! :) :)
If you are creating the image from scratch, tick the "web colors only" box when selecting from the palette. At least that way you'll know that the image won't be changed when you save it, I guess.
yes .. when I "blinked" mine I could only do two frames ON\OFF .. not much elegance in that .. and I had to scrunch number of colors to do it .. you could also try to do 50x50 and see how that works for ya
apparently .. linux can't animate an avatar .. brings the whole system crashing to its knees .. this is a well kept secret because the linuxians all put on airs of being bored and annoyed with such trivialities
when in fact they are sitting at home pawing at the screen and cursing their geek friend that played up linux as a viable OS
so .. out of respect for those involved we should just play along .. sneek out a short lil' anim briefly .. then put it away .. a 5k anim will only take 90% of his CPU leaving him 10% with which to accomplish his tasks
I was trying to lure the North American Spotted Caedster out of his den to spout the many blessings of LINUX
because when it does that you can slip a net over its head easier ... they go right on singing the praises of their OS without knowing they've been caught
do you know what you can get for one of them in a pet store?
Hmm, I don't believe you plan on selling to a pet store. Me thinks your working for Gates or maybe Jobs....Mr Bill is too busy doing good deeds trying to make all of his money clean, so it must be Jobs! ..... Oh no.... he's after us because we know too much about iphones.
