Hi...I have been uploading to larger sizes, (more than 800x600) and sometimes photo will upload as larger than the actual usual numbers.it is then rejected by Caedes as not fitting desktop....when i use the photo on my desktop, it fits very well. So...what is reason uploads are rejected unless they fit parameters exactly??? Some photos just cannot be uploaded exdactly according to stated sizes permitted.........

The website is programmed to ONLY accept the specified wallpaper sizes (ie 8x6 .. 10x07 .. 12x10 .. 16x12)

if you are using Irfanview, for example, to resize your images .. you must be careful you are doing it properly via the resample menu selection .. because Irfanview will sometimes ZOOM instead of resize if you do it any other way

if you have an image that is, lets say, 3200x2350 .. and you resample by changing the horizontal dimension to 1600 .. your height will hit a dimension that is NOT an even 1200 and the website will reject it

and for future reference you can add these NEW questions to an old thread .. we will see it rise to the top, like the cream that it is ... and we will try and help

you don't need to start a new thread for every question

so .. if you could .. describe your RESAMPLE process and we can give specific advice

hi Keifer.....I am using Irfanview to resample..........i just click on available sizes and some photos do not convert to correct size...uneven numbers..others will be correct. If I do set to desktop, this does not alow aspect ratio, so photo is distorted. Someone has said i need to crop image..do not know how to do that to make sure it will fit dimensions acceptable to Caedes. Any other info you need?? Thank you very much for all this help

when clicking on the list of sizes on the right (in Irfanview) .. aspect ratio is still maintained .. and for the most part you will want aspect ratio maintained so that the image is not distorted

if you are trying to upload a VERTICAL image .. well .. that's a losing battle with out the ability to surround your image with black

you'll notice in the edit menu .. there is a "create custom crop selection" .. this will give you a 'crop box' sized to your choosing (ie 1024x768) .. and you can move this to where you want it via the right mouse button .. and then go back into the edit menu and choose "CROP Selection"

so .. let's say you have a HORIZONTAL image that is (for example) 1024x683 .. and you would like to upload 1024x768 .. go into the RESAMPLE in the IMAGE menu and enter 768 into the HEIGHT box on the left side .. your image will now be 1151x768 .. so you will need to CROP .. following the above instructions about the crop box .. choose a 1024x768 crop box .. move it into place using the right mouse button .. then choose CROP selection from the edit menu

and your image will be 1024x768

Irfanview is a VERY nice program and does just about anything you could want

OK .. here's how you do a VERTICAL image ..

lets say you have a vertical image that is 678x1024 .. and you want to upload a 1280x1024

in the IMAGE menu you will find CANVAS SIZE (under resample) .. subtract 678 from 1280 equals 602 .. divide 602 in half and enter that number in the left side \ right side border entry

And your vertical image will now be floating in a sea of black ... you can even offset the centering by altering the numbers ...

BUT ALWAYS MAKE SURE .. the end result is a standard desktop size or the website will not take it .. even one pixel (scanline) .. will reject it

good luck to you
