I don't know about you, but working with notepad or in email programs, I have a tough time finding unusual letters, foreign accents and rare symbols. After some internet sleuthing, I've come up with these to cut-and-paste into the text. Please add more as you find them!

On a windows machine, most should have a character map. It can ussually be found around here. Start/all programs/accessories/system/character map.

I think he's refering to html encoding, such as the ampersand is encoded "&" then "amp" then ";"
