A little while back there was an announcement that from now on images not admitted to the permanent gallery would be "archived" instead of deleted. Everyone agreed this was a great idea. So why did one of my images (which wasn't in violation of any rules that I know of) just vanish without a trace? Not in my Control Panel, not in my gallery, not anywhere...

'Summertime' was removed because it was basically just a composite of two images from another site. We want original images made by our members, not images by others. We are also curbing back on allowing stock images. Unless there are huge changes to the images, to the point that they are barely recognizable from their source.

ok, I have a diff question… my images say they're still in the new images gallery, but when I go directly to that gallery, they're no longer there.

I'm assuming they were not deemed "not quite good enough" and I've been REJECTED! (big stamp on the forehead, pardon me while I get out the facial cleanser and try and rub that off), and they're only allowed to exist in my artist's gallery, they just aren't labeled that way?

You are correct.. That's the new rules.. At least they are in your personal gallery and not completely removed from the site as they used to be..

Cat, they didn't quite make the cut, so they were archived. Though looking at your last upload, I feel that it has a good chance of making it to the permanent galleries.

It would be useful to tag archived images in the control panel so artists can see at a glance which pictures didn't make the cut, and which are still pending.

It would also be nice to have something under "Jobs" which notifies you when one of your images has changed status.

hold on, i'm still feelin a little lightheaded from that… ty Tom, good to know, what I was actually referring to is that the images still tell me that they're in the New Images gallery in my Caedes Control.

I think it is a good idea to have both the notification of being archived and of being upgraded to the permanent galleries. I've been needing to build in more notifications like this anyway, so I'll increase the priority of making those changes.
