I look around me and am continually shocked at how the world around me has degraded.
Young girls and women seem to be nothing more than sex objects and the male population has become overly compulsive. Chivalry is dead to the point I am automatically considered a pervert when I open a door for a young woman. It may just be me but it appears to me that many well known channels are becoming more and more like soft core porn i.e. FOX. I sometimes equate American society to the Romans and wonder where exactly this experiment called the united states went wrong.
Don't kid yourselves its not limited to America. Germany along with being one of the largest economical hub has also became a quite monstrous porn exporter.
The press continually keeps us in fear. There is never a news cast that doesn't have a murder suicide or other death related report.

I bid you verily to try to disprove me.

I think every generation feels that theirs was better than the one that came after. I would bet you any amount of money that 100 years ago parents were saying, "Back in my day women didn't wear revealing clothing... they kept their ankles hidden! And we didn't listen to these awful modern muscians like that no good Bach... etc etc" ( Of course this is not historically accurate but you get my drift) The fact is things change; some things change for the worse, some for the better. There have been great changes for the better in recent history, in terms of womens/minority rights, medical research, scientific discovery... I can personally say that I know for a fact that I am much better off now than I would have been if I was, say, in my fathers generation. True, when I see Jerry Springer on TV, I think "What has this planet come to?" But the truth is this is just one very small part of American culture, there are a lot of great things in the world still. Maybe it sounds cheesy, but it is true: You have to try and see the glass half full, rather than half empty.

One other thing: It is a fact that alot of things that we think didn't happen in the past did happen, we just didn't hear about them; for example child abuse is not necesarily more common today, it just receives more publicity, which is not a bad thing. One of the first steps to getting rid of a problem is acknowledging it exists.

The great thing about democracy (and also the worst in certain circumstances) is that it depends on it's citizens to make to make their decisions on all important issues. This includes morality. The thing about morality is that it is much harder to be moral and have a responsibility to oneself, and therefore there will always be more of a tilt to one side. And that is what is happening.

However as a free man you and everyone else in this world has a voice and if you think the line is being breached, do something about it. Get some of your friends together and write a congressman, ban fox, etc.; you have a responsibility to yourself to do so. You can turn the tide backward.

I have noticed the decline in societys morale and respect. Its gotten pretty nasty in the schools. Judging and classifying and just... trying to climb the ladder and once your at the top theres no where to go and its insane how degrading some of the things people say or that you see on the news and web. Also involving school is the way that this generation has behaved. All the teachers have said that this one is less mature and not as driven but the year below us is over mature and very dedicated. I think it does have something to do with the media and what people believe is the limit as to right and wrong and where they want to be in society. problem is society is a mess.

I fully support the freedom that our constitution doesn't fully support but as in this generation as all others have asked the superceding how far is too far? Will it get to a point where women walk around in bathing suits in school? You make think me crazy for asking it but it is a valid point.

Something I found out. Rave dancing was invented by the pagans for ritualistic sacrifice.

My question is what should be done to remedy the situation... I agree most whole-heartedly in the very same thing you're saying. And I've been known to bring the similarity of Roman and current worldwide societies. I also agree that if unchecked, that and something else, perhaps being too hasty with certain policies of war and greed, we could lose this great nation. However it is not up to the government to do such things. The people must decide where to draw the line. I'm tired of the government telling us what we cannot do, when they cannot just realize we are all individuals who can take care of ourselves and make our own decisions. If the government would drop all the "I'm going to help you by taking away this choice" way of doing things people would realize there are certain things as good and bad and that their choices for how to treat people and do things would change accordingly.

Example: TV was completely uncensored by the government. The first thing that would happen is mass smut and violence and whatnot in programming. Over a short time people would get sick of the mess, the would at some point reach their limit. Slowly the TV stations (run by greed) would realize this and would put "better" programming on. Then even some good ones. Society would fix itself, because over time taboo would come back, (oh no you watch channel 3, i don't want to mess with you) and there'd be no push to "push the envelope" because you are free to if you wish.

My main point I guess, is that people need not be sheltered by the government, and have it make all the ethical and moral choices. Until people can have a moral conscience of there own, no amount of laws can help us, and they will in fact want to make us disobey the law even more.
</End Rant>
To answer your question, the line will be pushed as far as possible until society agrees that things have gone too far.
