A can imagine a time in the not-too-distant future where you won't need t buy a seperate camera, mobile phone and MP# player anymore... it will be more economical just to get all three combined together. Of course you can already do it, but at this point I think you are still better off buying a seperate camera and phone, both in terms of expenditure and features (personally I don't use a mobile anyway, so for me it's really a non issue).
The technology is indeed going the "all-in one" route. They aren't there yet, but it will definitely be very interesting to see how things work out in the future. Soon we'll be walking around with devices in our pockets that allow us to access the net, take excellent photos, offers hundreds of GB of storage, plays music and movies, shows TV shows and at a pinch allows you to make a phonecall or two.
well this one has fast net access, a 10MP camera with optical zoom, digital tv tuner, video & MP3 playing and expandable card storage so its not far from your ideal - aside from it being a bit brick like but give it a year and see where things are then ;-)
time will tell I guess - athough Samsung are normally pretty competitive price wise with their products. how that pans out with this model that will have no direct competitors (its nearest rival has a 3MP cam and no optical zoom capability) is yet to be seen.
Still waiting for that olfactory technology...maybe we will be able to lick the screen and smell the mouthpiece;-) Mom made her chocolate chip cookies and is trying to lure you home for a visit.
Nah, why waste your time with that nastiness. Soon the phone will be able to beam information straight into your brain. You'll be able to smell, hear, taste, feel and see those cookies without having to lick anything. :)
PS. Sony has a patent for the technology (at least the possibility of it).
I heard about this camera. I thought it was only a 6 meg on though. And as far as what Mulder said. Samsung said by 2010 that they will have a phone chip that can be implanted behind the ear and the reciever will rest over the back of you ear. Scarry whooooo. I don't know to me thats a little to close for big brother to get to me.
to pull this tread off topic, i was watching CNN or something and they were talking about this security company that implants little chips into your wrist so you can wave your hand over a thing and it unlocks doors and such. I think that is a little bit to creapy for me.
