Should users remove unpopular photos? I have submitted 6 photos so far (I think), with the lowest one have an c-index of 65:100. Should I remove it?
Also, should users remove anything is less than 40 or so? I know Caedes is having server capacity issues (although probably not with storage space), so I was wondering about this. I am sure unpopular photos are already removed, but how about ones that are on a borderline. Is there currently a baseline established for a minimum c-index to remain on the site?
There is no specific c-index at which an image is (or should be) removed. When i do (rarely) go through weeding out the weak images. I just sort the gallery by c-index and then start at the lowest values. I don't remove images just because of the c-index though. If an image is interesting or unique I'll leave it alonce reguardless of the score.
It is totally up to you whether you remove your own images or not. I'd say that you should only remove an image if you feel that it no longer represents the quality of your work and you want to replace it with something that does.
The imagemods choose which images are moved to the permanent galleries based purely on their own good judgement :-). Images may be moved at any time, although generally they will remain in the "New" gallery for 1-2 weeks so that everyone gets a look at them.
