for a while now i've had some images sit in the new images gallery (some a few months). i was just wondering if there were so many images being uploaded that they havent gotten to them, or if they just somehow never got decided on whether or not they were staying on the site. thanks
My guess is that they have been archived. Images are archived now instead of deleted so that you still have access to them from your personal gallery. If you actually looked through the new images gallery you won't see any archived images, but when you view them in your gallery they will still be listed under whatever gallery they were in when they were archived.
Not only that, & I don't suppose this is the right thread for this, ( so sorry, but please indulge me ) but it would be kinda nice if we got some kind of notification that an image had "made the grade ", been accepted into a permanent gallery
Other than just one day, out of the blue, idly scrolling through your Caedes Control & there you notice it .....a change in gallery
Yes, there needs to be notification or gallery change and archiving. Right now it is not clear what should be done (gallery-wise) with an image when it is archived.
i had completely forgotten about the archiving feature but it also brings up an interesting point about notification. one possiblility that i could think of is to have a notification that catagorizes as one of the 'jobs' like subscription, personal message, etc. im unsure of what the official 'link name' could be but it could say something along the lines of "images archived," list your images, and then the normal "processed checked items" thing. if any 'radical' changes are plausible, then i suggest some other possible solutions such as listing the archived images as keifer said above ("Archived --> Fractal Abstract" ). The simplest idea i can think of is maybe just putting an asterisk next the image's name. Here is another thought just came to me: if no one can see the image (correct me if i'm wrong), then there is no need to display c-index, etc. then that could be an indication as to which images are able to view and those that are just archived.
i know that i just threw out a ton of ideas, but i like just laying down everything that comes to mind so that there is more to go off of or work with.
People can see the images if they visit your gallery .. for example .. you could give the address of your gallery to friends of yours to show them your art ... and the images will be there for them to see
good luck rattling off the address from memory ... ;o)
