TomKat to have a silent birth

Apparently Tom Cruise is hanging posters everywhere to remind poor Katie to remain silent and use slow determined gestures. I bet she'll have a slow and determined gesture for him very soon! I do not pretend to know much about Scientology, but I have read up on this silent birth thing...and from my understanding, it is more of a suggestion than dogma. Seems that over-controlling Tom is mis-interpretting his Dianetics. I don't know if the Dalai Lama (if he were a she) could remain wholly silent during the birth process. I mean, do the math. A childs head is roughly the size of a bowling ball. The vaginal opening at it's most dilated is the size of a small plum...now push the said bowling ball out said plum sized hole without making a peep...umm...yeah, right!!! Tom Cruise has been on my list for some time, and honestly I think he has been a nutjob in the making for some time now...I just feel for poor Katie who seems to have sold her soul for what, I am not yet sure. If he insists that she remain wholly quiet during birth, then I suggest to him that he remain totally silent while his penis is removed without painkillers of any sort.

Sorry about the rant, but this one bugs me. I can understand the theory of silent birth...it is not a Scientology only thing...it is Tom Cruise insisting that poor Katie remain totally silent that burns my ass hairs. I say girlfriend, if it hurts, you scream...scream loud and proud!

Anyone want to chime in on my rant?

Men who have never had children love to tell women that it's no big deal. That is because to them it isn't because they can't comprehend it. This doesnt sound to me like a memorable event if there cant be music or sharing. For such a little man, he sure has a big ego. Was he using slow determined gestures when she became pregnant? I don't even this his acting is much since Top Gun.

Amen to that one!!! My hubby was all over me screaming like a baby...he was like honey you do whatever makes you feel better. I understand the theory of silent birth...but the idea that a woman remain totally silent, to me is insanity, and no man should tell the woman...honey you need to just shut up....I'd be like honey, you need to die now! Personally I think you hit the nail on the head...Tom Cruise has little guy's complex...because he has been a notorious control freak since the debut of his career. And this has nothing to do with Scientology...it has to do with him. I think he uses the Scientology as a way to say stupid things and misinform people. Hell, even Kelly Preston tried to clean up after him when he blasted Brooke Shields for her post partum use of anti-depressants. I think he is just as mis-informed now, and I really feel sorry for Katie Holmes and her family having to endure his tyranny.

We did a thread here about some guy that was into Scientology. His name was TOmmy and he had a carrot icon. Can you say Napoleon complex? She should be silent about commenting on his films. He must have paid her quite a pre-nuptial for her to be acting like a housing tank for his child.

Hell, I still question how she got knocked up in the first place. Mimi Rogers has said that she was tested, and NOT the reason they could not conceive. Nicole and he adopted, although there are now rumors that she is pregnant by Keith Urban...so can't be her...which leaves...hmmm. Possibly an artificial conception? I have to say, I respect Nicole for not giving into his nutjob ways. Too bad poor Katie couldn't. And her family...eeesh...very Catholic...now their daughter is not only pregnant and unwed, but having to be totally silent during birth per Tom's commands. He really has no respect for anyone...and if he really loved her as he claimed on Oprah's couch, then he would have married her straight off and not been such an ass to her family.

Someone found a pair of tweezers and that is how it happened. The delay in marrriage I thought was because of the pre-nuptial. Jumping up and down on Oprah wasnt keeping quiet now was it? Women loved his gesture on Oprah but now obviously only he can crow...

Not to toot Scientology's horn...this is what the official site states about medicine:
Scientologists use medical drugs when physically ill and also rely on the advice and treatment of medical doctors. Scientologists do not take street drugs or mind-altering psychiatric drugs of any kind.

Scientologists believe that psychotropic or street drugs damage a person physically, mentally and spiritually. They decrease awareness and hinder abilities. They are a “solution” to some other problem and themselves become a problem.

...and this is what is said about the "silent birth":

In the book, Dianetics, L. Ron Hubbard writes that for the benefit of the mother and child, silence should be maintained during childbirth. This is because any words spoken are recorded in the reactive mind and can have an aberrative effect on the mother and the child. The same applies to the vicinity of any injured person.

Now I don't agree with some of that, but the point I am making is that drugs ARE NOT avoided, and that silent birth is a suggestion...now back to insane Tom Cruise...who has said that Katie will have a silent birth without drugs...who the hell is this jerk to dictate that??? If he claims that Scientology says it, then he has clearly mis-interpretted things. Yes this one will be a long rant...
How much do you think Katie Holmes stands to make in this business proposition? And has Tom Cruise figured out yet that he is NOT doing anything to make Scientology look attractive to people??? And finally, as he does not believe in drugs for psychiatric purposes...is a padded room at least allowed, because DAMN...he is one crazy mofo!!!

I’d have personally given Katie Holmes more credit than to get involved in the Cruise baby/wedding pantomime/cover story fiasco – but seeing as she has sent herself down that rocky road it’s hard now to engender any degree of sympathy for her when it comes to having to deal with the Mapother madness.

Indeed the same would apply to any other ‘celebrity’ nuptial induced trauma. Take for instance Princess Diana – often the recipient of truck loads of sympathy but in reality fully involved with the whole scenario from the get go – taking her wedding vows in the knowledge that she was the third wheel in a man/woman/my little pony love triangle. As is usually the case in these dramas, it all back fired on Charles as well when the young and virginal girl he married as the ideal cover story turned out to be a full-blown neurotic nymphomaniac who even went as far as passing off a prince of the realm as his son when it was clearly fathered by one of her many lovers.

Nasty.

So yeah Katie – grin and bear it girl – you brought all this crap on yourself – I hope the pay cheque was worth it :-)

Scream, Katie- then slap Tom silly.

That silent birth crap is just that ....crap. Unless she's out of it from start to finish she's gonna feel it , or maybe they plan on inducing her early.....ya never know. I would think that Tom should just be excited she's having his baby & experience it all, bonding with mom & baby. Instead of spouting all this nonsesnse.
You know, my husband tried that when I was in labor with my daughter, Desiree. My labor room had a TV in it & he & the doctor were standing at the foot of my bed idy chatting & watching Bugs Bunny cartoons on TV while I was in labor. All at once my hubby turns around & asks me if I could keep it down cuz they were having trouble listening to the cartoon ....I shouted him out of that room, believe you me. He came back extremely apologetic too.....I think a nurse had some pithy comments for him.
I think someone should knock both Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes upside their respective heads, & for different reasons of course, ask them "What're you thinking ??!!!!"

"Be silent and make all physical movements slow and understandable."

Like I said before...Tom, have I got a slow and understandable movement for you!!! The poster thing seems to be all over the news and internet, and while really pissing me off (as I think unless a man has birthed a child from his penis, he has no room to say ANYTHING) I also keep wondering just how much money Katie Holmes stands to make. Why? Well, I just can't wrap my mind around a woman, any woman, being willing to jump through all Tom Cruises hoops and insanity of her own free-will...so in my mind, the only logical answer would be money. I mean the guy is LOADED.

I like Cat's idea!!!!

Silent birth has a lot of plusses...and it is a practice that has been around long before Scientology came into play. They idea is to have the room as calm as possible...not so much completely silent, as trying to eliminate a lot of unnecessary noises so to keep the mom as relaxed as is possible. For example...as the mom is cringing in pain from a contraction, don't be watching the horseraces and be on the phone placing a bet with your bookie. To me this is common sense, and something I think every hospital should enforce. Complete silence and stillness on the other hand...to me seems not only a gross mis-interpretation of what a silent birth is, but can also be dangerous. Doctors need to speak to their staff. The point of a true silent birth is to not throw a wild party in the room while the woman is in labor. Rather to try to keep it as calming as possible so there is less stress on her, which then means less stress on the kid.

Where I am Tom bashing, is that, apparently, he has taken this concept to the millionth degree...and for that, I think he is a total whackjob in need of some good psychiatric drugs that he doesn't believe in...because he is damned delusional!

Wait...a thought just occured to me...perhaps those signs are not for Katie at all, instead, they are there to remind Tom not to act like such a twit as he has been doing lately..."Be silent and make all physical movements slow and understandable." Do not jump on couches and yell at Matt Lauer....could it be??? Have I been wrong about these posters? They are not for Katie???

Feel free to hijack...but there is a rule...the hijacking must contain at least one bash worthy moment towards Tom Cruise. I am on a Tom Cruise bashing kick right now...so that is my only request before you hijack it.

Besides, its not like he's made a decent film in a while...hopefully MI3 will be worth something, because if not...with all his couch moments lately...he needs a blockbuster. But then, to me...he has only done 2 movies that can ever be considered great...Top Gun and Risky Business. All his others pale in comparrison.

The latest from Tom:
American actor Tom Cruise told Germany's leading tabloid in its Monday edition that he wanted to tie the knot this summer with fiancee Katie Holmes, after the birth of their baby and the upcoming release of his new film, "Mission Impossible III."

Cruise was in Germany to plug the film on the country's popular "Wetten Dass ..." ("I'll Bet ...") TV show. He said on the show Saturday that two pilots were at the ready to fly him home should Holmes go into labor.

"If Katie calls, I'm gone," Cruise said, insisting that he wanted to be present at the birth of their first child.

Cruise confirmed to Bild that he and Holmes planned to marry in the coming months.

"First the baby, then the film," he was quoted as saying. "Then, in summer, we want to get married. I won't let this woman get away."

Cruise is both starring in and co-producing the third installment in the "Mission Impossible" series, filmed in China and Italy. The film is due to be released on May 5, 2006.

How nice of him that the baby, then the film comes before marrying Katie. Yeah Katie, you got yourself a real winner (weiner) there!!! To be put on the list somewhere below a film release.

Probably because his agent or someone said "dude, you're looking like a total f-ing freakazoid!!!"...I still laugh at the fact that poor Brooke Shields' newborn daughter was born on the same day...great...birthday parties will go like this:

"happy birthday honey, why do I have this uncontrollable urge to bitchslap Tom Cruise today?" Poor thing get an earful from Dr. Tom Cruise about how she should have treated her post-partum, then has to share her kids birthday with his kid. I guess she can find solace in the knowledge that her kid won't be totlly f'd up and mind-controlled by a dad who is no doubt compensating for his vertical challenges and other shortcomings.
