Okay .. I'm trying to remove a lightswitch from an image. But when I remove it with my clone thing then it takes out the lightshadow from the lamp that is the main object in the picture. So I'm wondering how to take the lightswitch out and either keep or put back that light/shadow thing.
here's the image

Why don't you post the image as your post for the day .. you'll get more advice than you can shake a stick at

well .. I'm cloning over a shadow area. The lightswitch is right where the light from the lamp and the shadow from the lampshade meet. so.. its like an akward place. Kinda hard to explain, hope I'm not completely confusing anyone

I see the image now. I would try using the shadow from the other side of the lamp. It would require some rotation and brightness changes though. You'll also need to mask the edge of the lamp real nice.

My PS document of the technique. I first overlayed the copied shadow from the other side and changed the blending to "difference" so I could tell when it matched the existing colors. Then I just masked off the edge of the lamp.

honestly...i think its easier to take a screw driver, buy some concrete, drywall, or whatever that pink stuff is they put in dry wall...shut off the breaker...paint the wall where the switch used to be...and then take the picture... =D thats what i would do
