Hey, I want to try out the program Bryce, and I was wondering where I can find a free trial version of it, if there even is one. I've checked Corel's website and either I've missed it or it isn't there. Would somebody like to help?

the current version of Bryce 5.5 is distributed by DAZ3D not Corel as far as I know - and they dont offer a free demo facility. sorry :-)

Shoot, any earlier versions you know of that are being offered as a free trial?

there may be some around if you scout around on the net - Daz offer 5.5 at $100 or the earlier (but much slower) version 5 for around $30 less. e-onsoftware's Vue 5 products starts at $90 and they do offer free time limited demos of their product range.

I just checked there website and they limit the render resolution to 640x480 in trial versions, so that won't work. Thanks for all the help though Phil.

you will find, id imagine that all 3d companies will place similar restrictions on trial renders either by sizing issues or watermarking renders.

Ok, I guess I'll try the Vue 5 and see how it works, and if I like it, I will consider buying it.

I believe the Learning Edition of Maya doesn't have any restrictions on resolution, saving files, etc. However, it does put a watermark on anything you create. You can download the trial, or I think it was actually on the DVD version of Unreal Tournament 2004 (if you're into gaming). The game is probably in the Bargain Bin at many stores by now...

I downloaded the trial myself. Once you fill out the registration on their web site they email you a Key for the software and the links to download it from.
