Okay, so I may be kind of fevered and nonsensical here, but I've been thinking about this for awhile. I've been slowly building my "favorites" gallery, and going through images on the site a little @ a time.

I've come across a number that aren't among my favorites, but have certainly caught my attention, and I feel worth gathering elsewhere in an "Ooooh… Interesting" gallery. Any takers on this concept?

P.S. Before you say it… no I do not want to toss them into my favorites for 2 reasons. A) They're not really my favorites and I don't want to represent them that way even though I do like them and B) I've barely started on the Photography gallery and my favorites are already @ 9 pages, I don't want to feed the beast that way!

i think we have something like that already - it's called the permanent gallery :-)

I think that I understand what you are suggesting. If we let people "tag" images then we could make custom galleries with them. So the current favorites gallery would be tagged as "favorites" but you could also make a new gallery called "photos of cows" by simply tagging a number of photos as such. Great idea. Please send it to the dev site if you want full credit for the idea.

I like finding generalized solutions to such problems. It fits well with the laziness ethos.

Basically like our own image storage system on caedes, yes?

Reminds me of Robert Heinlein's "The Tale of the Lazy Man". Not sure if it was actually his or folklore he incorporated, but hey, it works.

SamaCircle - If by "our own" you mean keeping select galleries of our own created from the wider range of site galleries, yes.

I like that idea. I have those "interesting' images in my favorite's folder on my harddrive because I didn't want to lose them in the permanent galleries. Thanks to Cat for the idea & Caedes for the open-mindedness. :~)

So, Cat and me were talking the other day ...

And I was telling her my idea for the possibility of another folder on the site, you know. A folder in which we could, perhaps, save other images that were not quite up to snuff as far as a fav would go ... but, still would interesting enough to our artistic sensibilities to want to have readily available access to them.

You know, like when you see an image and your mind goes, "Ooooh… interesting."

She said forget it. Not such a great idea. I have to say, that I really appreciate her candor and input in these matters. In fact, one day I think with her obvious talent and interpersonal skills, she will, no doubt elevate herself in her career to the lofty heights of an art director. :oP
