*caedes was telling me the other day, while we were out skeet shooting, that there's nothing he likes better than dedicating server space to new avatars, .. you know, he wants you to be able to express your individuality in any way that suits you (within reason) ...

As you may have noticed, the site keeps all old avatars attached to their respective messages ... and, so .. like sediment on the ocean floor, they just keep stacking up .. I forget the actual numbers, but Camerahound has about 1,024 hamburgers in storage, and yet, we all sit here wondering if there's anything to eat in the fridge

RPG codex .. not an avatar site, but a game forum .. if you are willing to create an account you will have access to a plethora of RPG related avatars .. like those from Temple of Elemental Evil ... but careful posting on the forums .. they eat people

hotavatars .. most of it is too small and cluttered for my taste .. but you might find something here

ehmac.ca .. one of those poorly designed pages that take forever to load on a dial-up connection .. but there are some good PIXAR images further down

sanza.co.uk .. 100x100 and mostly animated .. you'll have to know how to cope with that

Try resizing it again in Micrisoft Photo Edotor, for some weird reason that I don't know it always knocks the kb down & I usually use it after I resize them in PS

Came across this same issue a few times in Photoshop.

I just changed the file extension back to .gif (as was the case for me) and the size of the file was ok after that fact.

*grumbles about PS being greedy and trying to hog allll of the image files for its' own self*

you .. could .. go into Irfanview's Options\properties\extensions .. and re-assign them back to it .. if you use IRFANVIEW

since it's better to have an image viewer run when double clicking instead of an app that takes a year and a half to open up

irfanview will even view .PSD's
