I have been using the lovely photos here for a long time as my daily wall paper. Suddenly, I have had the above results. I thought if I registered it would be ok but no go. Very sad. I use Firefox but when I went back to IE it was the same.

Happy to. The three photos on the opening page are black. When I click on photography, only a few in the opening page show up. If I click one of those to enlarge it, the result is a white box. I have been using this site for several months and never had this happen before.

Forgot to mention, all of the text is still there.

I see that you're using firefox. The only thing I can think of that would cause this is if you accidently told the browser to "Block all images from caedes.net" in your right-click context menu.

I used to use ZoneAlarm .. but, sadly, I had issues that you describe .. I'm down to the WinXP firewall right now (and not happy about that) .. ever since version 6 of ZA people have had issues with them .. that whole Jack-of-all-trades deal is hurting them

to try the WinXP firewall .. (in case you don't know how) .. go to your "Control Panel" menu and select "windows firewall" .. (turn off ZA first)

if you turn ZA back on it will automatically turn off WinXP firewall


Personally, I think ZA is treating the thumbnails like advertisements and blocking them .. but nothing I tried would get them to show up

Could you try using a different browser and see if that fixes the problem? At least if it doesn't we can eliminate browser issues as the problem.

I went back to IE7 this morning and found all my pretty pictures waiting for me! Zone Alarm is still on. I honestly thought I had tried this. So, apparently it is a Firefox problem though I have been using it all along. Hmm. Hate to keep going back to IE7 to get my photos. Any suggestions?

there are numerous browsers that use the IE engine .. their names escape me right now, though .. ;o)

I went into Firefox and allowed popups for Caedes but that didn't work.

Success!!! I went back into Firefox options and told it to load images. I now have my photos. Thanks to you here for helping me figure this out.

I am bring up this old post again as the same thing has happened to me. I can see the thumbnails but get a blank square when I click on any of them. This happened out of the blue. I have Firefox and Zone Alarm, Windows xp. I have gone to options. Typed in is allow Caedes images so that has not changed. Does anyone have an idea for me? Thanks.

I'm suddenly having the same problem. Happened half-way through doing some voting in the VB - seems a bit sudden to attribute it to firewall probs?

I already mentioned this in another post, so my apologies for repeating it,but it's relevant. The same thing (I think) is happening to me. I can see the small thumbnails,go to click on one, and the image is blank at it's page. If, however, I choose to see it at 'full view', no problem. The image comes up right away. GRRRRRRR!!!

neither. I use either IE (hi Tim) or MSN's browser, and have the McAfee suite.

Seems to be working now. Guess it was not my computer after all.

Had same problem on main computer turned on laptop no problems, who knows? Think it was a server problem somewhere. Watching bottem screen whent through 2 different servers then got to caedes.net after long time and wouldnt let me sign in on auto had to manually sign in. All better now.

I use Norton Systemworks (Including Internet Security) and I was getting the same problems (no images and slow pageloads) periodically...It could be a routing issue somewhere...

Ditto on Ron's and Rob's comments ... insofar as what I use as my defense against the ne'er do wells ... and still getting some blanks on the images' pages.

Happened in the voting booth too, today.

I am treating it like a game of sorts ... a la Forrest Gump ... "you never know what you're gonna get." :o)

p.s. As long as it is not those chocolate covered jelly thingys ... ptooie! on those ... and as luck would have it ... they are usually my images. :oP

Yes, I've just been in the VB too - and here we go again...

I canīt see the smaller pictures either in VB. But I can click on them and get a bigger version. But this is happen only in VB, I think. I have OSX 10.3.9 and run Safari.

O-Oh! Suddenly in the VB, the photos scrolled the author as they were loading! Getting to be fun in there!
