I think that it's time that we raise the minimum size limit to at the very least 800x600, but preferably to 1024x768. I don't know if it's just me, but I get really annoyed when I see a great background only to be disappointed in the ultra low res. Thoughts?
I don't think the smaller images are really causing a problem. How about if I let you filter the galleries to only show images that are sized greater than your choice?
I've been wondering... I assume you have some site statistics running, what resolution are most visitors coming at? Is 640x480 still that common among users?
Certainly not... if I want my icons to be 2" tall, I can make both my monitors 640x480. And I do know of some (older, not old) people who prefer resolutions below 1024x768 so they can read text easier. I'm not arging either way, and do agree that it's probably best to limit submissions below 1024, but I think there has to be some reason Caedes is holding out for the smaller pics, and assume the site statistics back this up.
About a year ago the average was 1024x768. I think the main reason that most people run suprisingly low resolutions is because they just use the default and don't know how to change it.
