Hi... I'm looking for recommendations for digital cameras under $400. I'm not that experienced but interested in learning more about photography. I really enjoy this site and the fantastic pictures that people take. Any advice you can pass along would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Sanyo's VPC-E6U, Canon's Powershot S80, Casio's Exilim EX-Z1000, Sony's Cybershot DSC-T9/DSC-H2 or Panasonic's Lumix DMC-LX1K would all see you right in that price area. Stretch the budget another seventy dollars and you could get the exceptionally good Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ30S.

I will vouch for the Panasonic. Lot's of good bells and whistles for the money spent. Great camera. More than a point and shoot but not so advanced that I couldn't learn it :=)
