as of today, i have 9 pictures posted, and in most cases few or none have commented.

if you're staying mum because you really didnt find much to like, that doesn't really help me. i'm not thin skinned, and would rather receive constructive criticism than no comments at all. of course, if you did like something of mine, by all means don't be shy. i don't have a fragile ego, but i do have one ;-)

so, if and when you stop by, feel free to say what you think, and i'll be an adult and receive it in the spirit it was intended

Ultimately .. I think that you haven't come to grips with the term desktop image .. in fact, that would be a good thread of its own .. "What makes a Good desktop image" .. this is something that a few people here have run in to. And I am not going to suggest that you change your vision if you believe you've settled on it .. and I'm not going to suggest that you change what you post, that'll be for you to decide ... but factor that statement into why your images score the way they do and the comments or lack thereof that they receive .. it IS possible to learn to see differently with a bunch of amateurs clamoring at you .. at least a few have said they've improved since being here

If you have a couple favorite photographers .. go to their galleries, study the images, what makes them work AS A DESKTOP, what comments and scores do they receive

also

take an image that "fails" here and post it elsewhere, perhaps a more Artsy venue, and most artsy venues tend to be more brutal ... since they are all .. artistes

for the technical and photographic critiques, i say thank you, whether i agree strongly, somewhat, or not at all, i appreciate the effort made. perhaps, though, i needed to be more specific and ask that comments be limited to my photos themselves. my ability to understand the concept of 'desktop wallpaper' would be a bit beyond that scope.
